Step into a memorable day trip from Bucharest and discover Transylvania’s most iconic highlights in one well-paced itinerary. Travel through scenic countryside to Peles Castle, the former summer residence of Romania’s royal family, then continue to Bran Castle, famously known as “Dracula’s Castle,” where you can uncover the story behind Vlad the Impaler. The day also includes time in Brasov Old Town, one of Romania’s most charming historic cities.
This experience is designed for travelers who want a smoother, more organized way to see Transylvania in one day. A well-prepared tour leader keeps the schedule on track and shares practical context between stops, while you enjoy independent exploration at each location. Plan for around 1.5 hours of free time at Peles, Bran, and in Brasov, with timings adjusted when needed for traffic and local conditions to keep the overall duration within a typical 12 to 14 hours.

I had a wonderful trip! Our guide Lucian was extremely friendly, shared many interesting stories and anecdotes, and always offered helpful advice. The tour itself was very well organized and truly fascinating. I had the chance to explore Transylvania, visit Peles Palace and Bran Castle , both impressive and full of history , as well as discover the charming town of Brașov. Overall, a great experience that we highly recommend!

The tour does not match the description given. We were not given a guided tour of Peles or Bran castle or a guided tour of Bravos. We were given some information but only while on the coach. No information was given except for what direction to walk in and what time to be back on the bus. It was not a small group tour. The website stated maximum size was 36 but we counted 52 on the coach. The details also said no children under 4 which they did not stick too. There were 2 very small children on the tour. My friend and I booked this tour that is more expensive than most as we thought it would be smaller and we would get a good guide, unfortunately neither were true. I did contact the tour to complain and they did offer a 10% refund but we could have booked a 30 euro trip and had the same experience. The positives: Bran castle was great but you need more time than the tour allows to appreciate it so we felt a little rushed ( we paid for skip the queue too). Bravos would have been lovely to see but we got there at 7pm so it was too dark. I would not recommend this tour

The experience itself is good but i noticed that our guide Santiago is very selective as to which tourists he would talk to, he is very friendly towards certain people but very indifferent talking to me, there was even one time that i was clearly next in line on his right side while waiting patiently for his attention but after he was finished talking to the group he was talking to, instead of shifting his attention to me, he decided to talk to the other small group in his left side. Whatever his reasons are, he can keep it to himself but he should know that irregardless of our races, we are all tourists and deserve equal attention.

It’s not enough time at the castles unfortunately. The guided tour at Peles was pretty boring and only leaves you a half hour of free time to do the whole second floor, outdoor areas and get back to the bus 10 minutes away. I asked to separate and just meet back at the bus and the guide refused to tell me a meet up time until his guided portion was done. Brasov was enough time for a quick explore are the central area. Bran castle was enough time if you didn’t want to read everything or do the 2 extra exhibits if you just want to go through the castle and grab a souvenir. Overall it was fine, a long day though to basically rush through everything I would recommend going on your own or staying in Brasov so you have longer at each stop.

This was a tour for just our family (three of us) in a private air conditioned car and local, English-speaking driver/guide. He tailored the trip to get maximum time at each castle and to avoid the largest crowds at both. Bran Castle was so much fun; Peles Castle surprised us with the intricate decorations. Our guide also recommended we tour the Black Church in Brasov, which was absolutely stunning. We ate lunch together and had a good time. Highly, highly recommended.

Poorly organized, we were in queue 1.5 hours at the castle of Peles and 2 hours at the castle of dracula, I heard worse experiences. Arrange a time-based entry system without standing in line for hours. Applause to our guide Elena

Lucian was a great tour guide and was very knowledgeable about the history of the two castles. We had a great time and learned a lot. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Narcis was our tour guide and driver, he was very knowledgeable and went in to the history of Romania and buildings of importance. His commentary around the castles and around Brasov was very interesting. Glad we had Narcis as a guide and his sense of humour was good too, had to be with my nutty family. Would highly recommend he won't disappoint!

We had looked forward to this trip but were extremely disappointed. First of all the company did not tell us it would be extremely crowded at the castles and that the traffic would be terrible as it was a public holiday weekend. We had other days that we could have chosen had we known, and would have had the experience we expected. Secondly we and most other people arrived punctually as instructed but one family did not, and Grey Line decided to wait for them. They were 40 minutes late! Queues at both castles were lengthy and because of time lost we did not have the promised time in Brasov, a couple of hours for a visit and lunch, but instead were given 40 minutes free time in Bran, most of which is taken over by a tacky market and fast food stalls. Everything was so chaotic that our guide even suggested we could return to Bucharest by train to get their faster - at our own expense of course. We chose Grey Line as they were considerably more expensive than other companies so we expected better. Had we taken a cheap option we would only have had ourselves to blame!
