During this 4-5 hours unique Dumpling making workshop, you’ll be taken into an authentic local spice market to explore it with fun challenges to complete and learn different species of Sichuan spices and ingredients that will be used in the following cooking class. The class will be carried out in a traditional Sichuan style courtyard. You’ll be treated with Sichuan local tea as it’s local’s custom to treat friends and visitors. After that, you then will be guide to start the cooking process by a professional chef in a cozy kitchen. Finally, you can enjoy the dumplings with delicious fillings made by yourself along with some beers or beverages. For it’s really informative, interesting and fun, this class will be an unforgettable experience in your lifetime.

It was awesome. Jerry is so friendly. He takes you to the farmer’s market and shares Chinese culture with you. Then, we went to the Workshop and the chef helps you make the dumplings. Jerry helps translate and cheers you on when the folding gets tough lol. We got to enjoy the dumplings we created! It was a really nice afternoon talking to Jerry and getting to know Chinese culture and cruisine.

Jerry started our tour with a nice introduction of Chengdu, before he took us to the food market where we could buy all our ingredients. We were the only 2 joining the sessions, and Jerry tailored the menu to our vegetarian preferences. He gave a very clear and kind tutorial on how to make the dumpling dough, the filling and then how to give the dumplings nice typical shapes. He was very invested in us, so we would really recommend him and this workshop!

Met our guide Lance at the metro stop — very easy to find. We had a fun walk through a real local market before heading to the spotless, professional Chilli Cool China kitchen. A Chinese chef showed us how to make the fillings and dough, and we got to roll and shape our own dumplings (with mixed success, but lots of laughs!). We then enjoyed our work with refreshments . Lance was knowledgeable, kind, and even sent us recipes and videos afterward via WeChat. Really great experience — I highly recommend this booking!

This was a lovely way to learn the intricacies of making Chinese dumplings. It is a learned skill to make the beautiful shapes. Did you ever wonder what was in dumplings or in the sauces that we eat with them? The professional chef talks you through step by step on what the ingredients are and how to use them. Lance was a generous guide and translator. Please enjoy this experience.

This experience was truly amazing. We had a wonderful English speaking guide who walked us through local markets and explained everything we were curious about. We learned to much about tradition and culture in China. After our market walk we went to the kitchen had a lunch break and ate snacks we bought from the market. When the dumpling cooking class started they very detailed explained every steps of how to make the fillings and the reason why they put the things in. The chef and the guide learned us amazing techniques on how to make dumplings. After the dumplings were done, we had a nice chat about China while eating the dumplings. We highly recommend this experience !!
