A must-do if in Fairbanks. Lisbet and her team are EXCEPTIONAL. She ensured each member of our group was educated and confident before hitting the trails. The mushing experience was beautiful, relaxing and invigorating. I could not recommend more highly!

The dogs were very energetic and excited to go out on the trail. The owner, Lisbet, and her assistant, Nicole were very warm and professional. They showed you how to drive the sled and how to handle the dogs. Then when you drove your own sled, they guided you in their sleds so you knew which trails to take and when to apply the brakes etc. The dog kennel is off the beaten path, so if you are not comfortable driving a very steep hill that's snow packed, I would hire a driver to get there. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience.

I’m having difficulty putting into words how magical and exhilarating the experience of the half day sledding tour with Arctic Dog Adventure Co. was for me. I am a plus-size woman and I was scared and intimidated before starting, but my lifelong dream to mush a sled with a team of dogs was more potent than my anxiety of trying something new. Ryan and Nicole led our group expertly and made me feel safe and cared for throughout. Ryan was especially understanding and stayed attuned to my needs and pace. Both he and Nicole gave great instructions and helped build our confidence for an entirely new experience. Ryan provided an extra parka, mittens, and snow shoes to help grip the sled rails. He taught and quizzed us before getting started, but this activity heavily relies on learning by doing. I was nervous and yet felt safe throughout the experience. My team of dogs consisted of Stein, Seitsman, Johan, Blanche, Alex, and the very best boy, Sonny. I felt at ease and safe with my team, and felt so grateful to be able to spend quality time with such magnificent creatures. I have always adored Siberian Huskies, but I have never had the opportunity to see them in their element and environment, working together in a task they were clearly born to perform. Spending this time and bonding with the dogs felt like a gift I cannot clearly convey. You can tell the dogs are very well cared for and happy - their excitement was palpable and the ethos I gleaned from the company website meant a lot to me. And to say that Sonny stole my heart is an understatement; I hope to be able to return just to see him again. It’s been a week since my time with Arctic Dog Adventure Co. and I haven’t stopped thinking about the experience, the dogs, or stopped looking at photos and reliving my exhilarating memories and feelings. This was my first visit to Alaska and this experience has left an indelible mark on me and has cultivated a desire to return. Even if you are intimidated, don’t let that stop you. This is an unbelievable experience with a wonderful company, caring people, and incredible dogs. If I could do this, so can you. And ultimately, it turns out it wasn’t scary at all - it’s incredibly exciting and thrilling and will probably change your perspective of yourself and the beauty in the world. I truly believe Alaska reveals who you actually are, not the narratives we tell ourselves in our daily lives, but who you are capable of being. Getting to experience the power and the teamwork of the dogs, the serenity of the location and vistas, and most importantly the internal confidence of doing something despite being scared has changed my life and my perspective of what I am capable of. Thank you Arctic Dog Adventure Co. for unforgettable memories.

It was a wonderful experience! Although I arrived earlier than planned, the host warmly welcomed me without showing any displeasure. As it was my first time dog sledding, they patiently taught me and looked after me during the experience, ensuring that there wasn't a single moment I felt in danger. The huskies were gentle and intelligent, yet very tough and strong. Fortunately, the weather was favorable, and the view from the mountain was incomparable. I highly recommend this to anyone seeking an exciting experience in Fairbanks.

This was such a unique and fun adventure. My husband and I did this as part of our honeymoon and this was our favorite part. Neither one of us had ever done anything like this before and it was just incredible. They taught us how to drive the sled and ensured we were warm enough. The views and experience were again, just incredible. Definitely something we plan to come all the way back for and do again. Between the GPS and the instructions provided on their site, it was easy to find.

Once in a lifetime experience! (Note: we signed up for the half day tour). The dogs are amazing, so energetic and were having a great time - along with us humans. The dogs look happy and well cared for. Nicole took us out on the trail after it dumped about a foot of snow, she was so great in leading and breaking the trail for us! I’m from Arizona, this is my first time in Alaska, so I truly had no idea what to expect. They provided us with gear. Nicole was very patient, explained everything and chatted about the dogs and the property they live on. After this tour, I’m desperately wishing I had signed up for a longer excursion - and I’m eyeing their multi-day trips :) One thing, do plan out your transportation to the location in advance. You cannot miss out on driving your own dog mushing sled and I cannot recommend Arctic Dog Adventure Co enough!

As two seniors looking for an unforgettable experience, we couldn't have chosen a better company than Arctic Dog Adventures. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and well taken care of by Lisbet, the owner, and her fantastic team. They ensured that we were properly equipped for the dog sledding journey and provided thorough training on how to drive the sled safely. Before our 5-mile ride through the beautiful, snowy wooded trails, we were given a comprehensive safety briefing. Lisbet and her team made sure we were comfortable with the sleds and that we understood the basics of controlling them. We appreciated the care and attention to detail they provided, making us feel confident and ready for the adventure. The sled dogs were the true stars of the experience! We loved getting to know the dogs before the ride and seeing how enthusiastic they were about their work. After our ride, we had the special opportunity to help remove their harnesses, which was a wonderful way to bond with these incredible animals. It felt so rewarding to be part of the process and show our gratitude for their hard work. The trail itself was absolutely stunning, winding through serene forests with breathtaking views. The entire experience felt magical, and we enjoyed every moment of it. Lisbet and her team were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do, which made the experience even more memorable. We highly recommend Arctic Dog Adventures for anyone looking for a unique, safe, and enjoyable dog sledding experience. It was truly the highlight of our trip!

I brought my dad on this tour as an early Christmas gift and we both had an absolutely amazing experience. I couldn't recommend Lisbet enough as a guide and as a host. She loves what she does, and that carries through into every aspect of the tour. From the moment we arrived she was professional and friendly, and she took Covid-19 precautions that made me feel safe and comfortable. (During the Fairbanks winter wearing a mask not only keeps you safe, it keeps you warm!) I think we were both a little uncertain at the idea of driving our own sled dog team, since we had zero previous experience, but Lisbet is the type of expert that is so confident in what she does that it makes you feel like you can do it too. We were able to get to know the dogs (they're so sweet) and help get the sleds set before we went out. Lisbet explained everything and patiently answered all of our questions. As soon as we got going, we both realized there was nothing to worry about- the dogs are very good at what they do, and it is such a special feeling to be part of something they love so much. The tour was the perfect amount of time and was full of beautiful views. (I recommend giving yourself some extra time as you drive to your tour, as the views along the road are beautiful and worth pulling over to gape at.) Lisbet took the time to explain the landscape we were mushing over, pointing out tracks in the snow and peaks in the distance. When we returned, she took extra time to answer more questions about the dogs and the surrounding area. This is an absolute "must-do" experience if you are visiting Fairbanks, or like me you live here and have someone visit you. The tour was personal and informative, the views were stunning, the dogs were smart, sweet, and well trained, and Lisbet's knowledge and personality really wrapped everything up and made this experience the whole package. It is an "authentic Alaskan experience" because Lisbet is the real deal- an Alaska who loves the land and loves her dogs, and loves to share these things with others.

This is a great experience to get close to and learn about Siberian Huskies and the world of dog mushing. We had a ton of fun driving our own dog sled team instead of just riding in the sled which gives you a better view, bonding, and understanding of the sport in dog mushing. The view on the trail was breathtaking. You can really tell that Lisbet cares and loves everyone of her Siberian huskies very much. This is one of our best experiences in Fairbanks and would highly recommend anyone interested in learning and driving their own dog sled team.
