Had a great time with Tony on this tour. I was traveling solo in Alaska without a car so it was important to me to find a company that would pick up and drop off from my location and also be a smaller group. The advantage of Tony's tours is that there is no minimum size requirement and it won't be more than six people. On my tour it was just me and one other traveler. I was picked up around 5:15 and we drove about 1-1.5 hours to Chena Hot springs, the drive was beautiful with all of the snow and freezing rivers. When we arrived, we joined the 7:00 p.m. ice museum tour along with other resort guests who had signed up. It was cool to see but don't need to spend much time there. Afterwards, it's flexible in terms of whatever order you want to do things, I brought my own food and just went in the hot springs for a little bit. The changing rooms could be better maintained but the experience of soaking in hot springs surrounded by snow was cool. Around 9:00 or 10:00 we checked the weather and it seemed too cloudy to see the lights from the resort so we started driving back into town at 11, stopping at a few places to try and view the lights. Unfortunately it never cleared up and we didn't get to see them, arriving back to our accomodation around 130-2am (Tony is flexible and will stay out as long as you want). However, it was a fun adventure and a nice small personal experience getting to hear firsthand about what life is like living in Alaska. I believe this has much higher value over the larger tour groups.

Tony is an amazing host and guide! From pick up to drop off, he kept us engaged and laughing during our 9 hour excursion. We learned so much about the culture of interior Alaska and gained an appreciation for the people who have chosen to call this rugged place home. The ice museum was entertaining (feel free to skip the appletinis), and our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious, and Tony kept the conversation flowing, making us feel more like old friends catching up over a good meal than the near strangers we actually were. The hot springs were incredible. Tony gave us a thorough overview of the ins and outs of this unique experience, preventing any uncomfortable decision making outside the pool in below-freezing weather. The soak in the warm water under the stars would have been magical enough, but when the aurora peeked out for a moment, that took the experience to another level. Having seen the aurora, we made the decision to switch into our winter gear and begin our chase. Despite perfect conditions, lady Aurora played coy and didn’t reveal her most dazzling colors, but we had a blast chasing her anyway. Tony gave us all the data about our chances of seeing the aurora at its best and let us decide what worked best for our group. We would definitely do this tour again. Aurora or not, Tony runs an unforgettable tour. I never thought I’d thank someone for keeping me awake past 2 AM, but, Tony, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Our guide picked us up at the hotel and then made 1 more stop for some other guests along the 1 hour drive he gave us lots of insights into life in Alaska - including his own personal information which was fun to hear. Once we arrived at the spring he got us all set with the ice castle tour, the dinner and the springs they were very hot but enjoyable and we had plenty of time for it all - not rushed with a specific time frame after we stopped at a few dark places hoping to see Northern Lights but it was just too cloudy. He would have stayed out as long as we wanted

We had such a fantastic time! Tony was an extremely personable and knowledgeable guide - by the end of the night, we felt like we were old friends! The Ice Museum was quirky and fun, the hot springs were amazing, dinner was good and afterward, we were lucky enough to see a brief display of beautiful Northern lights before it got too cloudy. Going into the hot springs, I wanted to take my phone to take pictures, but was afraid to risk taking it in the water. Then Tony showed up with his waterproof phone and took our photos for the perfect keepsake! Tony even took our photos with the aurora! Then on the way back to our hotels, we chased the lights in a couple more spots. He made sure we had every opportunity to do all the activities. Conversation was pleasant and informative, even learning about other local restaurants and attractions for our stay in Fairbanks. Highly recommend!

Our tour guide Christopher was great, super nice guy. Our ice museum experience was disappointing, too crowded …it could be because of the last tour of the day? Also, I felt like the lady that took us to ice museum was in a hurry def. not too friendly( mind you she’s only been there for 3 mons). The worst part of it is, they all talk about apple tini to try for $20… guess what ,we are one of them that fell for it. However, by the time we got to ice museum… it was not enough ice martini glass to sell , smh. I guess no anticipation on how many tourists booked the tour. We asked to get a refund…. we did after a long process since the lady in the counter just started work in the gift shop. We ate at the restaurant, our tour guide highly recommended the scallops and boy it was delish and they give u a good portion as well. The hot spring experience was ok, we had a better one, too dark and the way they put the red and green lights were blinding us . We saw a li bit of the Northern Lights… not if full effect. We appreciate Christopher as he made an efforts to chase them and made multiple stops for us, thank you.

Absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish! Tony is a wealth of knowledge. In a single evening you get to do so many unique things--ice museum, dinner in an Alaskan lodge, hot springs, Aurora viewing. It's a smaller more intimate trip than some competitors (just 4-6 people). It was truly wonderful, would highly recommend.

Our guide, Tony was personable, easy-going and knowledgeable. The hot springs were relaxing and calming. Though we didn't see the Northern Lights from Chena Hot Springs, we saw an amazing display on our 56 mile trek back to town. Tony pulled over so that ww could capture the images and assisted us so that we could really enjoy the experience. Kudos to him for his patience and kindness!
