What To Expect
Temple of Demeter
History comes alive at the ancient temple of Demetra, in Sagri Village, dated 530 BC, and dedicated to the goddess of agriculture. Built on the edge of a fertile Naxian valley, as the first Greek temple constructed entirely of marble (its roof as well), it’s of even greater historical importance. Please note : On Tuesdays the temple is closed.A visit to a traditional pottery workshop will be added instead
Chalki
Chalki Village, where after a pleasant stroll, visit the hundred-year-old family owned distillery, which still produces Naxos’ well-known Kitron liqueur.

5.00Georgios is a very knowledgeable guide! We learned a lot about the agricultural history of Naxos Island. We loved the pottery shop and beautiful church devoted to the Virgin Mary. There were many more stops too!

5.00Through our guide Alex, we experienced a local clay potter creating a pot on his wheel , met his family who are keeping the tradition alive. Very special!! Alex was kind, informative and made sure we had the best time!
