This tour was fantastic—I highly recommend it! In just half a day, you see all the key highlights of Soweto plus spend about two hours at the Apartheid Museum, which felt like the perfect amount of time. Our guide, Tshepo, was excellent—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even better. A helpful tip: although the tour officially starts at 9:30am, pickup happens earlier. They’ll send you your exact pickup time the day before (mine was between 9:10–9:20am). This was especially useful since I had to choose a pickup point different from where I was staying—I knew exactly when to be there.

The tour around Soweto and its various districts was very educational and a reminder of how fortunate most of us are to have been born into better circumstances. This experience was bettered by the outstanding Apartheid Museum (warning: 2 hours isn’t enough, so select the areas you want to focus on, and ignore the rest). Mandela’s house was less interesting.

Our guide Brian was very informative and engaging and kept us entertained with local knowledge. Apartheid museum is an important landmark to be visited but it is quite heavy and emotional, as one may expect. The rest of the day was in Soweto and some other local places like Mandela House. My friend and I both enjoyed
