Hana has been the most requested tour on Maui for years. Those who live here know that the road to Hana is what we all want to see, and "Halfway to Hana" gives that all to you. It's all within 6 1/2 hours, instead of the long all day full Hana tours. We use Lincoln Navigators (SUV) which has Five " first class"seats and two coach size seats. Your professional guide Summer has driven this road for 20 years, and Sean for 35 years. Everything that's fun to do on this road will be mentioned and offered, including a rich update of any Hawaiian affairs if asked. It's good to go with a local.
We offer private if you book all of the seats in a 7 passenger Lincoln navigator and shared if you're booking less. Booking seven seats gives you the whole vehicle. Couples may be in two SUV's following each other at times, 8 stops.
Please bring "reef walkers" if you would like to take a dip in a waterfall, rain jacket as well. If you have motion sickness make sure you have your remedy.

Pua'a Ka'a State Park
Puaʻa Kaʻa State Wayside Park is a state park on the island of Maui, Hawaiʻi. It is located along the Hana Highway approximately 39 mi east of Kahului. The area consists of 5 acres of rainforest with waterfalls and pools. The park is at an elevation of 1,200 ft and roughly 0.5 mi away from Waiohue Bay. Deep in the rainforest this beautiful waterfall beckons you to take a dip, so bring an extra set of clothes and "Reef Walker" type shoes to wade in and walk out safely. Walking up to the waterfall and small pathways brings you throughout this stop with bathrooms and sitting areas, this is a very popular location. This is the turnaround location for this tour. If there is room, we can stop for lunch that we purchase prior to arriving. A must see and do if the water quality allows. Remember, this is a subtropical rainforest and a large rainfall deep in the forest can bring a surge of muddy water at any time so we help you choose out of two locations to take a dip. Rain or shine, its great!
Ke'anae Arboretum
This stop involves walking through a subtropical rainforest and seeing everything that can grow on a small trail into the forest. Many professional photography opportunities. You also should bring shoes to get muddy as it rains often.

This was so much fun. I have limited mobility (using a cane) and this was not an issue for me. There was only 1 area (the Arboretum) that I was really limited. It was a longer walk than I was comfortable with, so I went as far as I could, at my own pace. It was still quite enjoyable. Sean was so full of information and he chose a nice spot for lunch.

This was a long ride on winding roads through the jungle with lots of waterfalls. We stopped to view rainbow eucalyptus, black sand beaches, green sea turtles and had lunch at a roadside spot. Our guide was great and gave a lot of info on flora and local culture as she drove. I definitely would not want to drive this road so the tour was a good way to see these things.

Highly recommend!! This was a wonderful small group tour in a comfortable Lincoln SUV and Sean was a great guide on the road to Hana! The trip went a little past halfway to Hana and was the perfect amount of time. It was wonderful to be a passenger to enjoy the breathtaking views since the road has hairpin curves & one-way bridges.

Good tour. Definitely glad we went with half way instead of a whole day though. Tour operator was informational and courteous during the tour and was helpful to take pics if wanted.

They cancelled this excursion less than 12 hours before it was supposed to happen. Said the driver was sick. Totally ruined our day.

If you are looking for an informative day with beautiful scenery, this is the trip for you. The road is thin and winding, but our driver had it under control. Would love to ride our motorcycle on it, maybe next trip. , just know the drivers cannot stop at all the waterfalls. However, the stops we were able to do were well worth the cost. Very breath taking !

Good tour with great guide. Less traffic with later start time so an easier ride with less congestion. Knowledgeable staff created a fun atmosphere.

Fantastic experience. Our guide, Summer, was really the reason besides all the great sites she took us to. Absolutely gorgeous views, waterfalls, tropical vegetation and green sea turtles. Summer was knowledgeable about it all. The road to Hana is very twisting turning yet Summer has driven it many times. Felt completely safe with her as our driver.

The ride with Summer was wonderful and she shared great info. Banana bread sundae - yum! So much easier than driving yourself.
