Your experience has a focus on being an interactive, hands-on experience. This experience allows guests to take a deeper dive into our world of Gin - not only trying the neat spirit, but learning how to use it in other creative ways.

This experience is great for people who may have already been on a 'gin' tour and are looking for something a little different. While many other gin experiences from other distilleries teach people about the history of gin making, we prefer to focus on modern drinks trends and the exciting innovations of current Scottish gin production. In particular, learn more about our experimentation with Scottish Juniper.

What To Expect

Sip your way through our Gin range with our relaxed, interactive and conversational experience! You'll be warmly welcomed to our Distillery lounge, where you'll get to know your host and group for the evening. Enjoy an arrival cocktail as we introduce you to Holyrood. Hear about our story and the world of modern Scottish gin production. Moving through to our Spirits Lab, we'll put your nose to the test with our sensory perception challenge! We'll take you through the key elements involved in our gin production, and showcase our Height of Arrows story - where you'll hear about our brand origins and local legends. Learn more about how gin is produced, and what makes our recipe stand out from the crowd. You'll enjoy a tasting each of our 4 gin expressions, and hear about how we manipulate flavour using innovative techniques. Experiment with different flavour profiles as we pair different garnishes, mixers and other accompaniments alongside your gin. While you enjoy your tasting, we'll also tell you more about the world of gin cocktails! You'll then have the chance to choose your next cocktail based on what you've learned, and enjoy these in our cosy Distillery lounge.

I had a fantastic fun tasting tour with Matthew. His knowledge and passion really made for a memorable experience. I came in with little to no knowledge about gin. Coming out of the tour, I felt like I had a strong understanding of the gin production process. The gin tasted great. I look forward to coming back here for the whiskey tour and sampling additional rum and vodka the distillery produces.

we were a small group of 6 participants and so our guide Conor could respond to our questions very individually. Conor was super nice and well informed and the tasting was a lot of fun. The final quiz was also a funny idea. We really liked the tour/tasting and were happy to find this quite new distillery.

We had an awesome time with Conor at the Holyrood Distillery Gin Tour. We were the first group to experience the new revised tour and it was a blast! We had people from Norway, Spain and Michigan. We all enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend the tour to everyone. Thank you Conor for a great experience.

Absolutely Fantastic Gin and cocktail making experience. Our guide for the evening was Broy, who is very passionate and super knowledgeable about not only the Gin ( Flight of Arrows ) that is produced at Hollyrood Distilary but also about the history of Gin itself. In general, we found all the staff or should I say team because to be Frank, they all seem to be of the same mindset as Broy, friendly and passionate about what they do and it come through in bucket loads. So if there is only one experience you can manage whilst visiting Edinburgh, let it be Hollyrood Distilary because we shall be back to sample the Whisky, if its anything like their Gin experience it will be special.

Dave was our guide who was a great host, very knowledgeable. We visited as a family and all the staff were helpful. Several tastes throughout our visit and very enjoyable.

Broy was a fabulous guide and the whole experience was exceptional! From the building and decoration through to the knowledge and of course the gin! 10 out of 10 for a group activity, will go again!

Small distillery, we were in a tour of 9. Our host, Conor, was knowledgable and kept the tour interesting. We learned about the distillery and the history - but of course this is all about the drinking. Each made a ‘clover club’ cocktail under his guidance and tried generous measures of the other gins that they make. Well worth a visit. We are local so will try the whisky version at some point.
