Delve into Korean War history with this special DMZ tour in Cheorwon, the northernmost county near the North Korean border.

Begin at Goseokjeong National Tourist Area, a scenic spot knowns for its rock formations along the Hantan River, where visitors can explore by boat or walk on the frozen river in winter and have time for lunch at own pace. Then, walk across the Hantangang Milky Way Bridge, a glass bridge offering breathtaking views.

In the afternoon, arrive at Durumi Peace Town, the entrance to the restricted DMZ zone. Wear a helmet and visit the 2nd Tunnel, an infiltration tunnel secretly built by North Korea and discovered in 1975. You’ll then visit the Peace Observatory, where weather permitting, you may see into North Korean territory.

End your historical journey at the Cheorwon Labor Party Building, a war-scarred relic from North Korea’s occupation, and explore Cheorwon History & Culture Park, a recreated 1930s Cheorwon street.
