This 4 hour food tour of Montreal’s historic Jewish neighborhoods begins at a beloved smoked meat deli, and only gets better from there. Your guide will lead you to a slew of other neighborhood eateries. There will be a rival smoked meat location, two rival bagel shops, a bakery for some sweets, an ice cream stop, a unique diner and an Israeli falafel stop. The tour is full of history of the Jewish community and each establishment as well as all of the significant landmarks along the way.

What To Expect
Outremont
We will visit a Jewish Deli and a kosher bakery in this neighbourhood as well as discuss the neighbourhood's history and the history of Montreal's Jewish community and their settlement patterns.
Mile End
We will see two rival bagel shops, a falafel shop and a diner in a league of their own in this neighbourhood, as well as many cultural and historical stops. (Former synagogues, the houses of famous writers, green, alleyways, former city hall and much more! )

5.00The food we sampled was very good and thoughtfully picked out (even pairing beverages w the food at the right places). Melissa was full of knowledge about the city, and not just its food culture (she was knowledgeable about that too). She has a friendly vibrant personality and is a great host. We had a bagel throw down, a smoked meat sandwich throw down and all kinds of other delicious samples including pastries and dessert. Melissa also helpfully provided book and movie references for different landmarks in the city, which we will be following up on. We were two adults w two kids and had a great time.

5.00Loved the variety of tastings and the history of the area. Great to know how international the neighborhood is and all seem to share interest in each other. Our tour guide, Melissa, was perfect and knew sooo much.
