We went at the beginning of dry season (November). The tour was awesome! We booked the morning tour and were picked up at our hotel (the start of of the pickup tour was around 8.00am) and drove to the peer, where the boat with our group started. We made our way through the floating villages. Our guide, Meng (he grew up in one of these villages) told us so much about the live in the floating village and in Cambodia in general, it was really interesting and so different from everything I've seen before :) (big thanks to Meng also for the good vibes!) Within the floating village, you have the opportunity to take a canoe (5.5$ extra charge - but it's not mandatory) through the mangrove forest on the water. I highly recommend that, it was totally worth it -and no worries, it's absolutely safe. After a little break we went to the lake and enjoyed the view before we made our way back through the villages. I really recommend that tour, you learn a lot about the live in Cambodia and you support the villagers :) Just one thing: since the lake is running dry during the dry Season, the water levels vary. That might change the whole experience. :)

Tl;dr: Our guide, Jack, was such a boss! His English was fluent, in both understanding and in getting himself understood, he used the occasional joke and body language to keep people's attention. All in all a great guide, would definitely want him again for our next trip! The two of us were visiting in the rainy season, so there was lots of water in the canal and in the village itself. Jack showed everyone pictures on his phone about how it looks like when there's no water around, and the difference was astonishing! It's not something I could have even imagined, had he not shown it to us. Along the way, he also told us what was where at a very comfortable pace that was easy for us to follow, even while we were busy taking pictures and videos of our surroundings. And he occasionally threw in a (bad?) joke or two, which I absolutely loved. It keeps people's spirits and attention up and prevents this from being just another dry “here you see this, and there you see that” tour. And the information he provided was really interesting, too! Jack also informed us when we were arriving at a place where we could purchase some refreshments and also a canoe(ish) trip through the jungle, which we did and it was absolutely worth it! (I believe this trip is only available when there's water, otherwise it would be a walk instead, so keep that in mind.) Lastly, before I forget it, I was surprised to notice that he also remembered everyone's names, which I don't think he needed to do, but it was a really nice touch. So yeah, all in all, the perfect tour. We were lucky with the weather and the season, but most of all, we were incredibly lucky with our tour guide! Thank you!

I spent a long time looking for a trip to the floating markets and booked this one. Everything was as good as we hoped. I was sent a watts app to confirm collection time from the hotel. Collection was prompt. The guide ‘Happy Tear’ spoke clear English, he was very informative, helpful and extremely attentive to the groups wellbeing. We thought this was well organised and exceptional value for money.

We booked the afternoon tour and found it great. Our guide Tear was a great guy. He speaks good English, has a sense of humor and is a passionate, honest, nice, cool guy. He told us a lot about Cambodia, the lake, the inhabitants of the village and also his life. His philosophy of life, motivation and attitude are exemplary. He's done really well. Compliment and thank you again. The tour itself was interesting because of the landscape and the way the inhabitants live there. Amazing how people live there. The tour didn't feel too touristy either. Everything was just right.
