Its important to know that we require at least 2 adults per kid as we require 1 adult to paddle and the other one to take care the kid. If there is 1 adult per kid we will charge a extra fee to get an extra person to paddle with us for this tour

What To Expect
The trip begins with a 20-minute drive from Fortuna to the river. Float down the river for approximately two hours, during which you will have an opportunity to see much of Costa Rica’s famous wildlife and have an interactive conversation with the guide. The boat trip down the Peñas Blancas River offers a relaxing way to enjoy the abundant wildlife surrounding the banks of this lush paradise. Take pictures of the rain-forest canopy teeming with monkeys or take a closer look of a tropical bird with your binoculars while you float in the oar boat. The naturalist will paddle and you can just relax like the iguanas nearby sunning themselves on the branches. At the end of the river portion of this trip, you will arrive at a local working farm where the owner is a well known Costa Rican horse breeder and trainer. His wife makes delicious homemade typical snacks and serves these treats with our world renowned coffee made the old fashioned way. If you prefer juice over coffee there is something for everyone’s desires.

5.00This was a great experience from start to finish. The scenery along the river was stunning, and the float itself was peaceful and relaxing. We spotted an impressive variety of wildlife, which made the journey even more memorable. Our guide, Bryan, was outstanding — knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about the area and its wildlife. He pointed out animals we would have easily missed on our own and shared fascinating insights throughout the tour. As wonderful as the river float was, the final stop at a local family farm may have been the highlight. The homemade cakes and fresh cheese were absolutely delicious and the perfect way to end the day.

5.00Very peaceful and calm boat ride. Saw wildlife including 2 American crocodiles, iguanas, different birds, howler monkeys, turtles, and iguanas. Guide spoke excellent English and was knowledgeable. A little bit of paddling, but not bad.

5.00We absolutely loved the La Fortuna: Peñas Blancas River Wildlife Safari Float Tour! The floating itself is a very pleasant and relaxing experience, and on top of that we were lucky to see a lot of wildlife. During the tour, we spotted a couple of sloths, a toucan, and a monkey very close to us on the lower branches of the trees. We also saw many more monkeys a bit farther away, which was still amazing to watch in their natural habitat. After the float, we were treated to delicious snacks — tasty cheese, fresh juice made from local fruits (star fruit and passion fruit), and homemade banana bread and corn bread. It was the perfect ending to a beautiful and memorable experience. Highly recommend this tour if you want a fun, peaceful river adventure combined with great wildlife sightings! 🌿🐒🦥

5.00I loved this tour. It was an easy float down the river while looking for wildlife. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We spotted an iguana, birds, a sloth, monkeys, and a crocodile. After the float, we got fresh juice, plantains, cake, and cheese. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.
