We had a great experience hiking, exploring nature, see exotic birds, insects, and animals. Also explore diverse eco-friendly environments. Our guide Carlos was very friendly, energetic and knowledgeable. He has sharp eyes to discover hidden animals; we've seen sloth, hawk, snake, bats, frog, and toucan. This is the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. Highly recommended thsi tour and our guide Carlos to anyone who's plan to visit La Fortuna.

The tour was amazing and a must see. William and Carlos led the group as a small group. William was so knowledgeable and knew the history of the whole place. Though strenuous to do it on our first day, it was well worth it and the experience was great

What an amazing day and an amazing experience. Both of our tour guides fWilliam and Andres of Red Lava Tours did a phenomenal job of showing us all of the beauty of Silencio Park, taking us patiently down to La Fortuna waterfalls, and along the way down, taking time to show us the flora and fauna, and really giving us an amazing geology lesson. Additionally, Andres was so patient to ensure that he was in the water and took pictures of each, and every family that was down there as they stood at the base of the fall in the water pool. As for the thermal pools, would highly recommend that you try to do Baldi hot springs closer to town. The hot springs we were taken to was overcrowded, had a mildew smell everywhere. This is where ALL of the tour companies go to. This shouldn’t reflect on William and Andrea.

This was a ton of fun! Our group around 8 random people along with me and my wife had great chemistry right away thanks to our incredible Tori guide Carlos. I was very impressed by Carlos’ knowledge of everything in the area and the nature. He was able to spot both a sloth and a toucan in the trees from a long ways away while we were driving to the first hike and tell us all sorts of fun facts about the plants in the area. Highly recommend Carlos! The waterfall was also incredible, super fun to swim around the area and hike to it.

The trip was advertised as maximum 12 people but we were picked up in a bus with 24 persons onboard. The explanation was that there were two guides. However the group was never split up. It was just the guides taking turns. It looked like that Red Lava had another 24 people group on the same trip that we often got mixed up with so it was very crowded and slow. We constantly had to wait and wait for the group, tractors and the guide shopping pineapples. After a stop at classic turist trap local village with a sales show we went by tractor to a very crowded waterfall site. Apparently Red Lava had a beef going on with another operator so we had to do a detour in water and climb on slippery rocks to get to the waterfall. The waterfall was fantastic and the subsequent lunch was good. After lunch there was no bus to take us to the vulcano. At that time we had spend more than 6 hours on something we could have done ourselves in maximum 3. Total waste of time. We left the group and the Red Lava manager was kind to come and drive us back to our car. We are not sure if the manager understood how bad it was but it looks like the fee for the trip will be returned. Thanks for that.

This was a purely enjoyable day out for the family (mum, dad, 12yr old daughter) a great mix of hikes, swims, waterfalls, hot pools, aieral views, scenery and wildlife. You don't have to be a mountain climber to do it and our tour had kids from 10yrs old to a family celebrating their dad's 80th! So families of all ages and abilities made for a great mix of people and conversations as we spotted slothes, monkeys, swam under waterfalls, ate lunch and soaked in pools with a refreshing local cocktail. It had a bit of everything for everyone and our tour guide and drivers were awesome at informing, educating and entertaining us. We got home and all felt like it was a really good day out and that we all had different things we enjoyed but most importantly we all enjoyed it!
