Our adventure begins at the private farm La Naciente, just minutes from La Fortuna downtown. Here, we’ll set off on muddy trails through the primary rainforest. We start with a safety briefing and a practice circuit to get comfortable with the ATVs. Then, we head out onto the crazy trails of La Naciente, driving through challenging paths surrounded by lush vegetation and local wildlife. Along the way, we stop at Quebrada Platanillo, a micro-basin of the Arenal River that supplies water, and this is also where we can spot the impressive Watusi bulls, famous for their distinctive horns.
Next, we visit the picturesque village of La Guaria which keeps the “fortuneños” culture, where we explore its church and its old local store (pulpería). We continue along open trails, crossing natural puddles, until we reach the Arenal River, where we take a break to capture photos and enjoy the scenery.
On the way back, we stop at Rancho La Poza for a snack and some relaxation in its outdoor pool.

The tour begins on a private farm in the rainforest. You’ll ride through waterholes, try volcanic mud from a stream, take in the views, and if you’re lucky, spot Watusi bulls and some tropical birds.
La Guaria is a charming and picturesque village nestled in the heart of the Costa Rican countryside. This small community offers visitors a glimpse into the authentic rural lifestyle of the region. With its modest yet beautiful church and an old-fashioned pulpería (local store), La Guaria reflects the simplicity and warmth of traditional Costa Rican culture.

It was honestly so fun & exciting driving around in the mud. 😁 Definitely had a couple hiccups throughout the ride. 🤣🤦🏻♀️ also love the Volcano view & was able to take a clear group picture. The guide was really nice & took lots of pictures & videos for us.

It is an absolute blast! We were given a clear safety lesson first so we were comfortable driving the ATV. Such a fun morning with a great guide!

It was really fun to ride through the farm and through mud puddles. I loved hearing my daughter's laughter as we went through puddles. On the way back we stopped for water and pineapple. Really yummy. It was so fun for all of us.

What a wonderful experience! It ended up being my husband and I with our wonderful guide Randall. It poured rain but honestly it’s what made the experience absolutely epic. Randall took us through muddy paths and through beautiful farm land. He was amazing making sure to grab photos of us along the way. He has a real passion and really loves what he does and it just radiates off of him. Randall made sure we were safe and felt comfortable by taking us on a small practice path before hitting the trails. Excellent overall and I would highly recommend, just be prepared to get wet and dirty!

Randy was THE BEST. Everyone in Costa Rica is amazing and helpful, but Randy was a standout of spirit, information, confidence and fun. He was also so helpful with recommendations beyond the tour we were on. We loved the experience even more than we had imagined, despite having very little ATV knowledge at first. It was a beautiful ride that we hope to repeat every time in Costa Rica.

Andres was great! He took his time making sure that everyone was well informed about safety and how to properly work their ATVs. The route was a good mix of terrain and we had good mud because of the rain the day before. Keep in mind that mud doesn’t mean that you are going to get splashed all over(just mostly your lower leg and feet. We wore swimming trunks and water shoes which was perfect for us(just a little work to set the gears, which didn’t have to be changed that frequently). We ended the hour with a nice Volcanic mud face mask. I d definitely recommend this tour.

If you're looking for adventure, stunning scenery, and a good dose of mud, this ATV tour is a must-do! We had an amazing time exploring both on and off farmland – zooming through trails, splashing through river crossings, and even stopping for a refreshing swim in the river. The route was perfect, mix of mud and fun. The best way to see Costa Rica. Our guide Randal was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, super friendly, and made sure everyone felt safe and confident throughout the ride. He shared great insights about the land and local wildlife, adding a cultural touch to the adrenaline-filled experience. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to get off the beaten path and see the real Costa Rica in a fun, adventurous way!

Mi novio and I had gone on Wednesday at 7:30 am and it was just us riding with our tour guide, Brandon. He was super attentive and took our photos and videos without having to ask. We stopped by a few areas to sight see and look at some animals. Seen some toucans, but unfortunately no monkeys were out which is okay. But I ended up losing my phone on the way back but Brandon was super sweet enough to go back and was able to find it with no issues. Super thankful he was our guide. Would def recommend this place 1000 times over
