Mirador El Silencio
On this part of the tour you get very close to the mighty Arenal volcano. We start our hike at a wall of lava rocks left there by the 1968 mega eruption. From this point you go up the stairs and trails that take us over wide fields of lava. Under the shadow of the Arenal we keep climbing till we reach a panoramic viewpoint. Besides the volcano you see the Arenal lake, the surrounding jungle and the northern lowlands. Hiking down we pass more tropical forest giving us a chance of seeing more wildlife.

Thank you Red Lava Tour! I had a great time, connected with like-minded people, learnt a lot about the locations I visited, and over all - I had a great experience! The day of my tour was a clouldy/rainy day and I did not see the Arena Volcano due to fog, but that was no one's fault and just the weather did not cooperate! I also had great tour guides (Juan & Chris) who did a great job! They speak English very well and are easy to understand, they were knowledgeable, great at what they do and I learnt a lot about the places I visited, and I had a wonderful time! Thank you!🙏😀👍I recommend travelers to take this tour👌

This is probably my favorite tour ever. Our tour guide Rasta Juan was amazing. He was funny with a great sense of humor and very knowledgeable about the rainforest and the volcano. I highly recommend doing this. We did not get to go to La Fortuna waterfalls due to a mudslide. That’s OK when we go back to visit one day we’ll go to see the waterfall.

An excellent day - starting with Mistico Park Hanging Bridges walk. Rasta, Melanie and Juan were great guides. Rasta was passionate, helpful and informative. We would not have been able to see any of the animals without his eagle eyes and high powered lens. The pictures he took were superb. It was followed by Volcan Arenal. After lunch we enjoyed La Fortuna waterfall and then some indulgent hot pools of varying temperatures- what a taste of Costa Rica!

This all day tour captures the highlights of the La Fortuna area including the hanging bridge, Arenal volcano, La Fortuna waterfall, with a finale at the hot springs. There was a pineapple snack and yummy typical Costa Rican fare lunch. Our guide Rasta was quite knowledgeable and despite the rain, made the tours enjoyable. The site says the hikes are moderate and this was spot on. Older seniors and those unaccustomed to cardio activities might struggle with the volcano hike and the 932 down and up steps to the waterfall. The tours were nicely paced and the hot springs were a nice and relaxing way to end the day. Great job, Rasta, who clearly is passionate about the area and his work, and Jayner, our driver, for getting us around safely. MUST DO TOUR AT LA FORTUNA IF YOU HAVE LIMITED TIME AND WANT TO PACK IT IN!

A full, interesting and thoroughly enjoyable day. Our guide Andres( Andrew) spoke excellent English and had in depth knowledge of the flora and fauna. He took time to show you animals that you would never have seen. The hanging bridges were a unique experience putting you in the canopy. The volcano hike was a good way to see the lava under the new growth of trees. Tip: if you have some balance issues consider telescoping walking sticks for that part but not necessary. Lunch was very tasty. Fortuna waterfall is worth the 500steps( true walkways) descent and back. There are 2 areas, check out both for swimming. The thermal spa was a great ending especially the hot pool at the bar.
