What To Expect

Your journey begins at the Ku’ia Estates Chocolate Factory in Lahaina, the largest chocolate factory in the state of Hawaii. Our tour guide then drives you to our private cacao estate, nestled in the foothills of the West Maui mountains. Featuring over 20 acres of cacao trees, our professional and friendly tour guides lead you from “farm to the bar.” This interactive and educational tour introduces you to our cacao trees, the hands-on fruit harvesting techniques, and finishes with an exclusive 9-piece tasting of our award-winning chocolate. Check-in is 15 minutes prior to your tour start time.

5.00Wonderful from start to finish. Very interesting to learn about cacao and its origins, how unique Maui is to growing it. Seeing the actual pods and of course the tasting. Great chocolate and choice of flavors. Make sure you are able to climb a flight of stairs, encourage all to try! Excellent for kids interested in science or learning. Absolutely fabulous way to spend a few hours.

4.00The chocolate tour was great. The tour guide had good energy and the chocolates that they served us were tasty with very complex flavor profiles. I really enjoyed it. The tour did feel a little short. It its entirely it consists of a ride to the cacao trees, a brief overview of the refinement process and then a taste test. I would have liked if this included a tour of the factory. Overall a good experience.

5.00Great excursion, an opportunity to walk through the cacao trees and see the pods growing. Tons of samples during the treetop tasting, with the local beans having a truly unique fruity flavor, making even their darkest chocolate (70%) taste sweet.
