  • Great Roster Island Dinner Cruise

It’s a bare foot cruise and in most cases you will get wet. Even though we only saw whale tale it was great. The scenery around the island was outstanding and the cruise staff were very helpful and knowledgeable.

This was our second attempt to take this cruise. The last time, about 2 years ago, was cancelled due to weather conditions. Perhaps this one should have been cancelled, too. We embarked on December 11th, 2025. First, the catamaran was the smallest boat at the dock. We were fully booked with about 40 passengers aboard. Due to the roughness of the seas, all 40 of us were crammed into the main cabin area. Second, during the presale "weather" briefing, Capt. Mike mentioned we could expect 8-10 foot swells and if anyone was prone to sea sickness, perhaps they should cancel. But, he didn't explain exactly what 8-10 foot swells would do. He kind of made light of it, saying it would be "interesting." What he should have explained was that it would be like a huge roller coaster with the boat heaving up and down as the waves broke over the bow. My wife and I are not prone to seasickness, but at least 25% of our fellow passengers apparently were as they spent the cruise heaving over the side and into red Fire buckets. Third, only when we arrived to check in did we learn this would be a barefoot cruise. Nowhere was it mentioned during the online booking process or follow-up emails. The bare foot requirement was due to "safety" of passengers. I get it, some people show up wearing flip-flops, high-heels, etc. and they don't necessarily want to police footwear. But, I was wearing Sperrys, designed for boating and my wife was wearing hiking shoes with Vibram soles, extremely sticky soles. The deck was anti-slip with a very textured surface, so textured that some passengers cut their feet and one passenger severly skinned the top of her foot and leg when she dove for the railing to vomit over the side. They had to bring out the first aid kit for her. Fourth, the two deckhands had to play the hand that was dealt them by Captain Mike, emptying puke-filled fire buckets and guiding people to the rails to puke. They did a great job and tried to make the best of it. They served up appetizers, beer, wine and other beverages and later served pull pork and rice. My wife and I didn't eat any of it since we had spent the entire time watching our fellow passengers vomit. Kinda made us lose our appetite. It really didn't appear that anyone was having a great time.... Finally, immediately after the cruise, my wife received an email asking for feedback, either by posting a review or texting the feedback directly to them. She provided a similar account of feedback texted directly to them. As of Saturday, December 13th, we've not gotten a response. So, the lesson here is that this cruise takes you into open seas. It can be rough during certain times of the year. They should do a better job of explaining that and be mindful of how poor of an experience it is when you have to watch a good number of your fellow passengers puke during the cruise. Oh, and the coast that we sailed to see was beautiful.

  • No wind in our sails - incredible experience

Captain Mike and his two person crew of Nichole and John were amazing tour guides. The view was breathtaking on both legs of the trip. The food and drink portion of the program was sufficient and satisfying. The only tiny wrinkle in our experience was the lack of wind which made this experience an amazing boat ride and not a sailing adventure. Would highly recommend the trip and we will look forward to sailing with them in the future.

  • Beautiful Tour of the Na Pali Coast with Holo Holo Charters

We had a wonderful experience on the Holo Holo catamaran with Captain Glen. The 65 foot catamaran accommodated about 40 guests, and the buffet dinner served on our sunset dinner cruise was surprisingly good. I will say, the complimentary (included in the price of the tour) mai tais tasted pretty much like juice. But I'm sure they don't was guests on the boat over indulging on the water. According to our captain, the Kauai waters were unusually calm for late October, which allowed our boat to get closer to the Na Pali coast than is typical. The captain was very professional and experienced and knew a lot about the history of Kauai and Na Pali in particular. The ride was beautiful and we would highly recommend this charter company.

Sailing the Napili coast and Sunset what could be better than that! A little rough water, maybe because its Winter so I suggest taking dramamine, a patch or something like a Ginger chewable for sea sickness. We saw a whale and dolphins . The food and crew are fantastic and I highly recommend this experience!

More like a speedboat ride than a sail. Nice crew. Bring a waterproof jacket, wear non-cotton clothes so they dry because you will get soaked! Food & drinks good. Napali coast spectacular.

Tour provided great views of the stunning Na Pali coast. It was a rough ride in parts; even for those who don't typically get motion sick. Crew provided great support, lovely drinks and food. They were knowledgeable about the geological information of the area.
