Come to our beautiful garden that has been in my family for generations.

I will introduce you to the basic of creating mosaics using all natural crystalline marble and granite pebbles collected from the local beaches of Naxos just as the Ancient used to. Design inspiration may come from archaic motifs. Work from our samples or bring your own ideas. Alternatively learn hand carving of marble and sculpture techniques.

I will provide a worktable, a block of Naxos white marble for practice, a small stone for a relief carving, safety glasses, hand tools, hammer, files, sandpaper. Enjoy fresh lemonade, coffee or tea, and sample of the fresh fruits from the garden. Everyone takes their finished relief carving or mosaic with them.

We had a fantastic time doing the marble carving experience! It was one of my favorite activities during our entire Greece trip. The instruction was very helpful and easygoing. We learned a lot and got very cool souvenirs to bring home.

This was one of the best things we did in Greece. Clear directions, demonstrations were given and help along the way as needed. We loved making something so special to bring home and remember our trip. The class would have been enough but the fresh lemonade was wonderful and refreshing on the hot day. We also visited the artist’s gallery and he walked us to a restaurant in the village. Such a wonderful experience and a wonderful artist / teacher / host!

On Friday 29 August, we decided to treat our kids to the marble carving experience and so glad we did! They said it was the best thing they did in Naxos, which is testament to their teacher, Christos, who runs 3 hr sessions in his marble garden set in his very own land where he grows among other things, his own olives, lemons, pomegranates and grapes. He makes very nice lemonade from his own lemons, too! The garden is full of his sculptures and it’s a pleasure to walk and explore it while your kids are carving a piece of marble of their choosing. I was also tempted to carve a flower on a beach stone Christos collects from the local beaches. The garden is in the middle of the countryside and not accessible by car, which you’re informed about in advance. So, be prepared for a short ride through the fields on the back of Christos’s pickup truck - we thought it was great! Christos is a very down to earth man, very easy going and a good teacher. We all enjoyed the time spent in his art garden. The only downside is the transporting of the heavy pieces home in your luggage. We took ours in our hand luggage and it worked out just fine. Book your lesson with Christos and you’ll have a great time!

  • Bizarre experience, but we did end up with some marble carvings. The activity only took one hour.

This was honestly a very bizarre experience. We were picked up on the street and then waited 20 minutes for other guest that were never going to show up because he had the wrong day. Then we jumped in the back of a truck where we were taken to a farm a few minutes away. He then spent the next half an hour watering his animals and plants. Then we finally got to the marble carving. He gave us a few pointers and then continued to work on his property. We were never offered anything related to mosaics, and the only mosaic we saw on site was an old tiny broken mural. We were done with our work within an hour. Then he asked if we wanted to leave or hang out and relax on his property. We were very disappointed because we spent a lot of time and money on this activity. Had it cost €20, it would’ve been fine, but for €100 we expected so much more. The lemonade was great! This just was not a €100 experience. Our projects took us less than an hour, even with the instruction. The tour advertises 3 1/2 hours of marble carving and mosaics.

Our marble carving class was truly unforgettable! I attended with my three children, and it turned out to be one of the most meaningful experiences of our trip. The teacher is not only a brilliant artist but also a gifted and patient teacher. He guided my children step by step, encouraging their creativity and helping them each create beautiful keepsake souvenirs that we will treasure forever. It was inspiring to learn from someone so passionate and skilled, and he made the process approachable and fun for all ages. I can’t recommend this experience highly enough for families or anyone looking to connect with the incredible artistry of marble carving in a hands-on, memorable way. Plus the Lemonade was delicious! We can not wait until we can come back and do it again!!!

Super nice local artist walks you through a basic intro to stone carving. He is committed to ensuring you walk away with your own special keepsake from Naxos. Highly recommended.

The experience was very nice, the environment was great, close to the olive mail (for lunch in the garden) which I would recommend to visit before meeting the talented artist. He will bring you to his compound full of marble statues in the country side and you can let him know what you would like to sculpt...Big or small, easy or difficult it does not matter, he will guide you to all the techniques. He is accompanied by his very lovely young dog and the artist will take his time to explain everything, he makes his own lemon juice as well to quench the thirst from all the stone chipping. I got made Cycladic face which I have always wanted to do...it was a great experience!!!

A very unique and fun experience! There are finished pieces all over the property which show his skill of marble work. You get to practice on a larger slab of marble then work your actual piece. Side note, best lemonade and orange I’ve had in my life. Would definitely recommend!

This experience was 11/10. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes to make art, doesn't mind getting a little bit dirty, and is open minded. Not only will you have an incredible time learning the technique of marble carving and actually doing the work, but you will also have an incredible time talking with Christos. Our experience ended up being 5 hours instead of 3 because we were having such a good time. No idea how I will fit this giant piece of marble in my suitcase back home, but it's the best souvenir I've ever had from a trip. Thank you Christos!!!
