Our inflatable rafting vessels are modeled after Coast Guard rescue rafts and are safe, extremely agile providing the best platform to experience whales and have a fun ride. Our vessel allows you to be close to the ocean surface. Giving you the feeling of being with the whales in there natural environment. From this vantage point photography captures a unique perspective of looking up at the animals when they breach the surface. Our Captains are trained to find the most surface active, diverse behaviors and best photo scenarios.
All trips from December – April are guaranteed to see whales or you go again for FREE!
We are locally owned and operated since 1982 and every ticket supports our participation in marine research projects and our role as certified first responders to whale entanglements.

Our small group Whale Watching tour is our most popular whale watching tour on Maui. Our fast and safe rafting vessels are low to the water and perfect for close encounters and small groups making every seat a front row seat! Listen to whale songs on our hydrophone and don’t forget your camera for epic photos of our humpback whale friends! There are two options 1.5 hour and 2 gour, please select the tour you are wanting.

Because we are eco-friendly, purified water is available in an igloo style dispenser, not plastic water bottles.

2.00We have been on a number of trips with Maui Ultimate Whale Watch over the years and have always enjoyed them. I realize not every trip the whales show up but in the past there was always interesting knowledge and information shared by the crew with the passengers. Today that was not the case, as the excursion ended up being more of an attempted cheerleading endeavor by the crew, as most of the travelers had already dozed off and/or lost interest long before the trip ended. We will be patronizing another company’s whale watch excursion next year.

5.00The captain and assistant were humorous and knowledgeable. We did see quite a few whales, but no jumpers. The only things that would have made the experience perfect would be to see a jumper, and the girls use some kind of amplification for their voices. We were in the back of the vessel and couldn’t hear a lot of what they were saying.

5.00Saw a mother Humpback Whale and young baby on our trip yesterday. Also several males who were pushing and shoving each other. The baby whale followed us as we were beginning to leave for deeper waters. Mom followed baby. They got quite close to the boat and then both started breaching multiple times. It was breathtaking. Our naturalist was very knowledgeable and the captain was very skilled.
