Very informative wine tour to the Medoc

5.00The half-day trip to the Margaux appellation was very informative. We visited 2 wineries, learned a lot of details about the different wines of the Medocs, the grape harvest, the fermentation and the ageing of the wine. We tasted some red wines at both wineries. Particularly noteworthy was the very nice care by Léa and the fact that the group size is limited to a maximum of 8 people.

5.00Nice small group tour (8 people), comfortable minivan and not too long travelling. First stop was really interesting, a good vineyard with a great tour and good wine. Second vineyard was just a tasting but it was really good and we sat outside in a garden area.

5.00Our guide, Roldolphe, was very knowledgeable about the wine making process and business, and most of all, he entertained us thoroughly. It was mid-September and at the Pieuré Lichine winery, we saw the harvest in full swing, grapes being harvested, cleaned and sorted, and dropped into fermentation vats. This was part of an informative tour provided by the winery. This tour included almost every phase of the process. Then the tasting in a comfortable tasting room. Off to another winery for more tasting. During the whole trip Rodophe answered questions, made jokes, and played games. It was a very enjoyable tour, which we recommend highly.

4.00Affordable wine tour. Good guide both on the bus and those at the vineyards. The price for the wines in the upper price range but good. The AC in the bus could have been better, but it was also a hot day, over 30 degrees.
