5.00Marco communicated with me regularly during the planning process of this tour. He picked up our group of six adults at our hotel in Lisbon to head to Nazare. We went first to the historic city center and visited the beautiful cathedral. Marco shared the city’s legends and amazing history throughout our visit. Next we visited several of the famous viewpoints for big waves as he shared his personal experiences of past surfing competitions and giant waves. Marco was a fantastic host and guide. I would definitely book more excursions with him and his company if I am ever in Lisbon again!

5.00Nazere is more than big waves, especially when they are not big that day. The cobblestone, the cliff, the king saved by the miracle from Mary, the shrine, the wine, the underwater trench. Then sacred ground: The big waves board hall of fame. Our guide, Marco, anticipated what we wanted, adjusted for the circumstances, narrated our way through history, in a conversational style that allowed him to be such a great guy.

5.00Today was our best day in Portugal so far. Our guide, Marco was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and explained many things we found so interesting. Nazare is beautiful with much history going back to the 12th century. The Big Wave area is amazing and the museum inside the lighthouse was very enjoyable- especially for those who have watched The 100 Foot Wave. We for sure want to come back in a winter to try and see a Big Wave competition. There is truly nothing like it elsewhere in the world- we HIGHLY recommend Marco and his company, The Amity Family.

5.00My wife and I scheduled a tour with Marco from Lisbon to Nazare in Portugal to see the world's highest waves. Marco picked us up at our hotel and gave us an incredible tour. He was very knowledgeable and forthcoming with information on the way to Nazare and answered all the questions that we had. He was very friendly and easy to converse with. He was also very caring as my wife took a fall on a step. He was great with going slowly and finding the easiest pathways to the places that we wanted to see. He even hailed a tuk tuk for one steep area so we would get the best view of the crashing waves and the surfers. He absolutely knew all the details of the area around Nazare and the points of interest between Lisbon and Nazare. You won't find a more congenial guide anywhere in the Lisbon area or Portugal.
