  One of the best Tours in San Francisco. The boat ride was fun. The view was incredible.. the audio tour and the guided tour put everything into perspective being able to set foot in the cells and see how the actual prisoners lived was eye-opening. Many of us have never been inside a jail before so we had no sense of how confined the prisoners are.. It was very interesting that there is more violent crime today than there was back then. The statistics they put up at the end of the tour really head home.. I found the tour to be informative, educational and thought-provoking

  I booked a 12:00 trip and when I got there at 11:00 I was told that I was actually booked for 12:30. My time was tight with plans later so we had to rush our time on Alcatraz. Beware

  It is a very good experience if you enjoy history. There is a lot to learn. The ride over and back also offers beautiful views on the Bay Area.

  Be early to the ferry… because this is through third-party, they will have you go through the ticket line. We were just in time and staff was great and let us on the ferry… We were literally the last four on lol! There is plenty of time to walk around explore the island, our favorite part was the audio tour of the actual prison itself

  Hmm… the ticket will call office did not say they had our tickets even after showing them my Viator voucher…. Kinda confusing. Finally, they acknowledged my reservation but I did not like their initial response…

  Really beautiful experience and organized very well. The crossing offers a beautiful view of the bay and the city. The audio guide is very well done, interesting and easy to follow, without ever boring. Friendly staff and everything handled smoothly. An experience that is absolutely worthwhile and that I would definitely recommend.
