My husband and I attended a private wine and cheese pairing with Stéphane. We had a wonderful experience. We tasted, we learned, and we laughed a lot. The wines, breads and cheeses were delicious. It was an education and entertainment in one sitting and a highlight of our trip to Paris.

Our evening at Le Foodist was one of our highlights of our trip to Paris. Stephane was charming and humorous while teaching us wine and cheese pairings. Everything was delicious. Such a great time. As first timers to Paris we were concerned how to get to the building. There is a bus stop only minutes away. Very easy to get to and a lovely area. Fred the owner contacted me even before we arrived in Paris to coordinate times of our class. Just a wonderful experience all around. Find the time ! Take the class ! Totally worth it

I think Stephan may have been a little shocked at our sheer ignorance of French wine and cheese, but my goodness we learned a lot! A highlight was when my sister got to pop open a champagne bottle with a sword and we all learned how to open one with just a champagne glass—definitely fabulous new party tricks! This was a super fun experience that I highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our wine and cheese pairing with Stephane. He was knowledgeable about the wine and cheese but he made the class interesting and fun. We laughed so much with him. If we return to Paris I would definitely take more classes at Le Foodist.

Le Foodist is a small culinary school 5 minutes' walk from the Panthéon or 10 minutes from Notre Dame. This cozy place offers a variety of training! For example, they can teach the basics of French cooking - technology, combinations of products, classic recipes, the same goes for pastries and pastries. Do you want to learn the practical skill of making croissant dough or bake your real baguette tradition, make pasta or lemon cake? Nothing is easier - just sign up for school! Classes last from a few hours to a few days depending on the complexity of the course. Also here are educational wine and cheese tastings, they interested me and I must say I did not regret for a second my choice of Le Foodist . In an easy, accessible form with jokes and in a completely friendly atmosphere, Stefan (professional sommelier) told us about the classification of French cheeses, their main tastes and flavors. And in practice, we tasted 5 famous types of AOP-protected cheese (certified cheeses, out of more than 400 types of French cheese only 46 are on the list of certified and protected) : blue mold cheese "Bleu d'Auvergne", goat cheese 2 types of ageing (creamier and more curdled), cheese cream, my favorite hard conte (12 and 24 months old) and incredibly smelly livarot cheese (one that only pros can overpower)) For each type of cheese was offered the most correct wine, with explanations , investigational examples, jokes and practical tasting skills. From the wines we tried Sauvignon Blanc combined with goat cheese, Bordeaux with Conte cheese, delicious Shiraz with livarot, semi-sweet wine from the Alsace Valley combined with blue mould cheese (my favorite combination) and lastly we were offered the perfect champagne with the perfect cream cheese Champagne was opened for a reason, but with a demonstration of the technique of saberage - when the bottle is opened with a saber or other objects. By the way, you will need to purchase a bottle of inexpensive sparkling and try this effective method in personal practice))) As I try - I will definitely report!!!))) Almost 3 hours of tasting flew by without being noticed - it was very interesting, delicious and educational! Now I want to have a meeting with the readers and have a lesson like this, bring knowledge to the masses so to speak! How about this idea? Highly recommend Le Foodist - professionals worthy of praise!!! Thanks to Stefan and Fred for the wonderful lesson and invaluable experience!!!

Three friends and I recently did the Wine and Cheese Pairing Class at Le Foodist with Stephane. I can say, for me, it was a great success. It was fun, informative and delicious. The class was led by Stephane, who was very informative and I really felt like I learned a bit about wine and cheese and how to pair them together in a way to bring out the flavors of both. And it was also fun, Stephane was very engaging and made sure to include everyone, there were 7 people all together. We tasted the wine, the cheese, talked about nuances and flavors but not in an overly pretentious way. We even learned how to open a bottle of champagne with a saber! That's all I'll say about it-but trust me it was great! I highly recommend this class, and this company. I had taken a cooking class the previous year, 2018, and really enjoyed that as well. I feel, for me, I would definitely return to do another class if I return to Paris. Merci beaucoup, Stephane, a bientôt! Susan
