What To Expect
Dendera Temple Complex
The Dendera Temple Complex dates back to the Ptolemaic period (late 4th century BCE to the mid-1st century BCE) and was built on the site of earlier structures. It consists of several buildings, including the main temple, the birth house, the sacred lake, a sanatorium, and various chapels and shrines. The main temple at Dendera is an impressive structure with beautifully decorated walls and ceilings. The reliefs and carvings depict various scenes from Egyptian mythology and religious rituals. One of the most famous features of the temple is the Dendera Zodiac, a well-known astronomical relief that is now displayed in the Louvre Museum in Paris.

5.00Our visit to the breath taking Dendera Temple was extraordinary, made even more exceptional thanks to Ahmed Abdulteif our guide and Mahmoud our driver. From the very beginning, everything was seamless, warm, and perfectly organised. Dendera is a wonderful and well-preserved temple but off the main tourist traill so quieter than other areas. Ahmed is an exceptional guide with an incredible depth of knowledge. His passion for Egyptian history and culture truly shines through, and he has an amazing ability to make every detail come alive in a way that is both fascinating and fun. He was extremely professional, wonderfully prepared, and genuinely enthusiastic about guiding us. We learned so much, yet it never felt overwhelming, just engaging, inspiring, and memorable. He knew when to talk and when to stay silent so we could appreciate the overwhelming sense of peace in the inner temple What made the experience even more special was the personal connection. The journey is not a short one and Ahmed and Mahmoud made every moment enjoyable. They were unbelievably friendly, kind, and respectful, and they made us feel like part of their family from the very first moment. They were interested in sharing not only ancient Egyptian history, but also modern Egyptian culture and daily life, (along with global issues and politics) which added such a rich and personal dimension to the tour. They went above and beyond in every way, taking us for coffee, providing wate, thoughtfully handling tipping along the way, and ensuring everything ran smoothly so we could simply relax and enjoy ourselves. These generous touches made the experience feel effortless and truly special. Our enjoyment of the day was entirely down to Ahmed’s outstanding knowledge, warm personality, and great sense of humour. Mahmoud was an excellent driver, safe, calm, and with a fantastic sense of humour - they both made us laugh out loud and were a real pleasure to spend time with. This tour exceeded all expectations. We cannot recommend Ahmed and Mahmoud highly enough if you are visiting Egypt, touring with them will be one of the highlights of your trip.

5.00I'm from Japan. I asked only for a driver. It takes two hours each way from Luxor, but the Dendera Temple is stunning and worth a visit. The basement and rooftops, as well as reliefs of Cleopatra, can be seen. We asked our driver, Taha Abdel Haq Abdel Karim, to continue our sightseeing tour of the West Bank in Luxor. They picked me up early at the hotel and everything went well. Thank you for your pleasant stay in Luxor!

5.00My time with Mohamed was perfect! He was very accomodating, considerate and communicated very well, and always went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and assist me with my needs. Also, as a solo female traveller in Egypt, I felt extremely safe with Mohamed. I can’t speak highly enough about him and would recommend his service with my eyes closed.

5.00日本人の旅行者で、ガイドなしでデンデラ神殿でしっかりと滞在して見たい方にお勧めします。 ドライバーは2時間まで滞在できると言ってくれました。日中のエジプトの日差しに体力的に1.5時間が限界かなとも思います。 デンデラ神殿の建物として非常に良い状態で残っていること、天井の装飾は他にはないものがあります。 Thank you Abdou for driving such a long distance. If you want to enjoy the Dendera Temple at your own pace, I highly recommend this tour. It takes 1.5 hours each way, but he made sure to take the time to explore. It was really helpful that he bought us drinks. Needless to say, Dendera Temple was the best temple I saw during my trip to Egypt. The ceiling itself and its decorations are the only ones that have been preserved to this extent. (I went to Abu Simbel, Edfu, Philae, and Kom Ombo.) There were some places I wish I could have stayed longer, but thanks to Abduh, I had a wonderful time.

He took us to the site in a safe way and back without any issues and was gracious enough to wait for us while we did some minor shopping and bathroom breaks etc ,very thoughtful per we traveled with a young child. I would definately recommend him to anyone visiting luxor
