Discover the charm of southern Beaujolais, often called the "Tuscany of France," with its rolling hills and picturesque hilltop villages made of golden stone. Just north of Lyon, this lush, hilly region is known for its famed Beaujolais Nouveau and golden-stone architecture.
Join our driver-guide for a cultural and gourmet adventure, including an introduction to wine and a tasting session with a local winemaker.
Travel through scenic landscapes where villages glow in warm golden stones. Enjoy a wine-tasting session amid the vineyards, savoring two distinct wines paired with a local pastry, while learning about the “terroir” that makes each wine unique.
Visit Oingt, a 12th-century village listed as one of France’s Most Beautiful Villages, and stroll its medieval streets. End your tour at a family-owned winery where the friendly winemaker shares his craft and offers a tasting with a traditional Lyon “mâchon” of local cold meats and cheeses.

This tour is GREAT! The views were stunning. Perfectly timed half-day tour. The vineyard was welcoming and the medieval town was picturesque. Raphael was extremely knowledgeable and a great guide. Highly recommend.

Great private wine tastings too! Nice day. Beautiful scenic viewpoint stop. Easy travel and nice that it was 4 hours vs. 8

If you're on the fence about booking this private half-day tour—get off the fence and into the car. This experience blended the charm of the Beaujolais region with just the right amount of wine, history, and good old-fashioned hospitality. Our guide was a walking encyclopedia with a corkscrew—knowledgeable, funny, and full of local insights that brought the city and countryside to life. The city portion was a great intro, but the magic truly started once we headed into wine country. Rolling hills, charming villages, and vineyards that looked like they were pulled straight from a postcard. The wine tasting itself? We visited a small, family-owned estate where we were treated like old friends. No touristy gimmicks—just genuinely good wine. If you are wanting to hop for winery to winery, this isn't your tour. We only visited one winery and had a "picnic" with our tour operator and tasted 2 wines there.

This is not a $600 value. We loved our guide, he was great. He took us to a great view of the countryside and pulled out 2 open bottles of wine (picture showed 3) and poured us a glass of each. We realized that winery 1 of 2 was not a winery. In fact, we were in front of a cemetery. The village was charming and the actual winery was authentic. We spent an hour with the owner and the winery has been in his family since the 1700’s. Very cool. Overall, we paid too much for one winery. The trip was great and I wouldn’t change a thing I just don’t believe it was worth 585 euros.
