Hotel pick up and drop off
Explore the village of Sidemen on a trekking tour. There are some great viewpoints where you can admire the ricefield terraces from afar. Exploring them from a different perspective; by embarking on a Sidemen trekking tour. Start your trekking tour in the traditional market and village of Sidemen then walk up to the rice paddy fields with no clear step on it. Take direction toward Mount Agung and follow the irrigation way of the water coming from and pass through the hanging wooden bridge that is fit for motorbikes and humans. During the trek, pass through the village and temple used for praying by the local villagers. The trek is going up and down the street then walk to ricefield following the irrigation. See the people working at their field like to plow, cultivate, plant the seed to harvesting. The Sidemen Trekking is very good for those who really want to see the varieties of mixture plantation, people, and the daily life of local people.

Lovely walk through the rice fields of Sidemen. Beautiful authentic rural bali scenery. You don't get this sort of experience sitting around Kuta, Legian, Semenyak. Our guide was very friendly and informative. Walking was not taxing but you have to watch your step when navigating the rice fields. Make sure you stop and look up regularly to take in the scenery, or all you'll remember is the narrow pathway in front of you. Be aware the trek end point is some 3 km from the start point with no arrangement to get you back. If you have a driver get them to meet you at the end point or use the Grab app to order a ride. I recommend this activity.

The tour was fun and informative. We learned a lot about the negative changes in Bali. It is truly awful that Bali is degenerating into a pub and that everyone is after the big money. Anyone looking for a hike is in the wrong place; it is an easy walk with many stops for photos. So, it’s neither trekking nor hiking.

Adidas our friendly guide provided us with a wonderful, informative guided tour of the rice fields , local villagers with lots of personal antidotes. He is a true local we walked through his village, saw his family home "hi Mum " met his dog "Doggy" This tour adds more to your experience of Bali as a result of this . Adidas is concerned with the viability of rice farming as a result of the younger generation leaving the land. It gives you a lot to ponder on as well as growing issues climate change and rubbish/ pollution in Bali Not all gloom and doom though !!! lots of wonderful photo ops Adidas a willing expert photographer . He knows the best spots to stop!! It's a 4km walk and best with sand shoes for foot protection . Thoroughly recommend this tour You'll get your insta photos of rice fields, terraces and the Yellow Bridge no problems!!! but you'll also get a bit of the real Bali and it's issues Surely it's the least we can do

Adidas is engaging and funny. As a local he has deep knowledge of the area and its economy. He takes you on a beautiful route through the rice fields, explaining how it all works and answering your questions as you go. There were 5 people in the group when I went, which is a good size. Definitely recommend.

We had a great time exploring the rice fields at Sideman with Sideman Trekking. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the local area and the agricultural practises of the area we were trekking through. It was well worth going with a guide to explore. Sideman Trekking were great with their communication prior to the trek. I would thoroughly recommend them. It was great having a local organisation, a new business so proud to show off their local area guiding us today.

Walking through the rice paddies with ADI, a true local, was brilliant. He explained the agriculture, the people, the problems and was very funny 🤣 Lots of walking, but a great experience.

The tour was super nice, great insights into Balinese culture and also especially the one in Sidemen get. Our guide was super entertaining and by no means tiresome. The tour may not have been quite easy but rather advanced. Definitely a must in Sidemen.

I enjoyed my Sideman walking tour very much through the Sideman rice fields and village. For those considering this experience, note that much of the walk through the rice fields is on an elevated and sometimes narrow path that at times is eroded on the sides. The trek was easy and flat, but If balance is difficult for you then you may want to reconsider this option.
