Fairbanks
As our home base, Fairbanks is one of the best locations in the world for Northern Lights viewing — located directly under the Aurora Oval. Each night, our SkyChase™ tour departs from Fairbanks and uses the Lights-for-Life™ Formula to determine the optimal location outside the city for clear skies and strong activity.
Murphy Dome
Murphy Dome is one of the highest accessible points in the Fairbanks area and occasionally used on clear-sky nights for its panoramic views and low light pollution. It’s a prime example of the remote high-elevation locations our team accesses while chasing the Aurora.

Tony was absolutely amazing! His passion for Alaska and deep knowledge of nature made the entire experience come alive. He’s not only incredible guides but also great photographers who captured beautiful shots we’ll treasure forever. The team was organized, polite, and genuinely kind. They set up a cozy trailer with a wood fire and an outdoor fire pit, served warm drinks and sausages, and even provided clean bathrooms — you can hardly believe you’re in the middle of nowhere! They truly go above and beyond to make sure everyone has an unforgettable night under the northern lights. Thank you, Tony, Mike, and Braden — you made our aurora-chasing adventure something we’ll never forget!

After multiple days of cloudy nights and failed attempts (as an absolute amateur), this tour was my last hope at catching a glimpse of the lights. Despite being a non-guarantee night, they tried several hours to get us the best views. Their expertise and relentless commitment resulted in memorable views that exceeded my expectations and I am grateful I tagged along. The warm drinks and especially the Alaskan cookout added greatly to the experience. Our guide Andrew was also knowledgeable, open to answering any questions and fun to chat with. All in all a fun night and would recommend this tour to anyone looking for a great aurora viewing night.

The staff were very professional. Even though the aurora forecast was low that day, they worked hard to find the best viewing spots and helped us take great photos. We had a wonderful time there!

(Mid-Oct 2025). After a few cloudy, rainy days in Fairbanks we decided to hire a tour. We were concerned that even with the Aurora apps we wouldn’t feel comfortable driving all around the rugged Alaskan wilderness in the middle of the night. We were picked up in central Fairbanks by the two man crew. Tony and Mike were very friendly and engaging. They seemed to have a true passion for chasing the northern lights. The van was large enough to stand up in. They drove almost all the way to the Yukon searching for clear skies! At one point we finally saw them and they immediately took some pictures, which I think was smart because northern lights seem to come and go quickly! I feel you can trust this team to do their absolute best to find northern lights. Be sure to dress very warmly in case you want to sit out and watch the lights for a while.

Mike and Leo were great tour guides. On our first night in town, we tried to see the lights and discovered we knew nothing. On our 2nd night we decided to book a chasing tour and we are so glad we did! Not only did we get to see the lights and receive great pictures of us as a memory, but we learned a lot also. The educational pieces helped to positively shape the remainder of our days in Fairbanks to make it such a memorable experience. Top notch booking that I highly recommend!

Dress warm, you will be sitting by a campfire between 10 p and 3 am waiting for the Polar lights. The guides will take pictures with you under the lights and are very knowledgeable regarding the region and the Northern Lights. You get free reindeer sausages and an assorted of hot drinks, as well as S'mores. They guarantee that you see the lights, or they will refund the money or take you out another night. I can highly recommend using them.

The team was excellent and kept us informed and entertained while doing everything they could to ensure we got to see the northern lights. Their camp base was great and the reindeer sausage tasted very good when roasted over an open fire. They put in a lot of extra time and driving to get us to a clear spot to witness the amazing Aurora Borealis! They really pulled a rabbit out of their hat! Highly recommend this tour as it also is the only one I saw that offered a full refund if they could not get us a viewing opportunity…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 The SkyChase Northern Lights Experience was absolutely incredible! The aurora was breathtaking, and seeing those vibrant greens dance across the sky was something I will never forget. The guides were awesome, very knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure we were comfortable the entire night. The reindeer sausage was phenomenal and definitely a must-try. This experience was worth every penny and something I would recommend to anyone visiting Alaska.
