Road To Hana

The Hana Highway is a 64.4-mile-long (103.6 km) , longest, coastal scenic route in the world. To the east of Kalepa Bridge, the highway continues to Kipahulu as Hawaii Route 31 (the Piilani Highway). This tour covers 59 single lane bridges, over 640 turns and curves, through lush, tropical rainforest. Most of the concrete and steel bridges date back to 1910.

  • Road to Hana with the best tour guide we’ve ever had!

This was such an amazing tour. The rain forests, Black rocks that look like sculptures, water falls and the beach with about 50 turtles were my favorites. Our tour guide Tristan Gonzales was so unbelievably enthusiastic. He has lived in Hawaii all of his life and is very knowledgeable. .He was also extremely polite. He loves natures beauty and it really shows. When we went to the water fall he climbed near it for us to get amazing photos. He is an excellent driver I highly recommend him.

Eli, our guide, was incredible! We had such an awesome time as we journeyed the road to Hana. He took us to all the great spots and the absolute best part was swimming by a waterfall! Seeing the turtles in the beach was the second best! An absolute must if you've never been to Maui! We got to see such a different aspect of Maui and it was so beautiful! The Mercedes Van is brand new and beautiful. Small group so you didn't feel like a number. The chicken restaurant where we stopped (cash only) was delicious! Buy a fresh coconut for $10 also! Long day but we'll worth it! Highly, highly recommend!

Exceeded expectations! Great way to experience the Road to Hana. Eli, our driver/guide was amazing! Very engaging, knowledgeable, friendly and fun. He was a skilled driver (the road is very winding), and played great music that was well thought out to suit the drive to and from the turn around point. He took us to all the best spots along the way for sightseeing, local foods, lunch and swimming (ocean and waterfall pools). Being very informative, he gave us the back stories at all the stops. He provided times for the stops so we could explore on our own, self-paced. Safety was always a concern and we were always informed of what was going on, especially regarding the water adventures. We would never have had this care free total immersion if we had done the drive on our own. My only regret is that that viator never got back to us about pick-up in Paiai town. SO we had to go quite a distance away from town in the opposite direction to meet the group, then drive right past our hotel in Paiai town on Hana Road! Our driver said he would have picked us up if he had known.

I had such an amazing time on my Hana trip! The tour was filled with incredible stops, including the breathtaking red sand beach and the stunning black sand beach—both were unforgettable highlights. We also got to enjoy some delicious local treats, like Sandy’s famous banana bread, which was fresh and warm, and mouthwatering hulihuli chicken and ribs that truly hit the spot. Our tour guide made the experience even better—super friendly, welcoming, and very informative. They shared so much history and local knowledge that gave me a deeper appreciation for Hana and its beauty. Overall, it was the perfect combination of adventure, scenery, and great food. I’d highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Maui!

  • They cancelled the day we...

They cancelled the day we had scheduled because of not enough people, but the next day we had the same amount of people and we went on the tour. However we were supposed to be picked up at 0705-0715 and at 7:30 we were still waiting. We received a text at 8:00 that they were running late and would be here at 8:15 but then corrected it to 8:40. So in my opinion the driver speed up to try to make up the time which made for a very rough ride. The stops themselves were great and the scenery was fantastic so we had a good time.
