Nigel is a treasure on the Isle of Mann, with so many years of personal experience with the local history that we heard the most wonderful stories! Nigel picked us up at our hotel on the Loch Promenade. We had such a wonderful private tour, with plenty of time to explore each place. We saw the amazing Castle Rushen, Cregneash Farm village with locals telling us how life used to be and where we had delicious tea and scones and we saw the 4-horned Manx Loagthan sheep, then we saw seals by the island, next the town of Peel where we enjoyed trying Queenies & Davison’s ice cream, delicious!, and then we went to Tynwald where Nigel explained the annual parliament and celebration. Thank you Nigel for sharing your stories, life, and beautiful island with us!

A great day with an informative guide. We were well taken care of including treats every time we got back in the van. Our guide did the tour at Castle Rushen and gave us such great history and info. Then is was on the National Folk Museum at Cregneash where we were treated to scones and tea. After they gave us time at Peel Beach where we tried Queenies and had time to wander to shops and on the sand. Lastly we stopped at Tynwald Hill to learn about the reading of the summary of laws that happens each year. We had a wonderful day and would very much recommend this tour!

RE: Albany Tea and Tours Albany House 9,Albany Road Peel. Isle of Man. Reference Number 1217617819 Confirmation Number 1602174623 Book at your own risk. If you must book a shore excursion, be sure to do so with the Cruise line. Others wise you might get clipped. We were taken for $460.00 US. ($230.00 each) (VISA card Receipt) On June 10, 2025, we approached The Isle of Man Harbor, our Capt. made an announcement over the ships public address system. He stated since his primary responsibility is for the safety and well being of passengers and crew, the higher than normal winds and rough seas posed a risk where no tenders would be launched. In the same announcement he stated that all shore excursions booked through the cruise line would be reimbursed 100%. Within less than an hour of departing Isle of Man, we received an email from our tour operator. (Albany Tea and Tours Albany House) Because the ships arrival was cancelled beyond our control he directed us to contact our insurance company for any refund. We were shocked to learn they simply kept the $460.00 with no refund offer. They advertise tour capacities from 1 to 14 people. How many others were conveniently taken? Upon returning home we filed a refund request through Tripadvisor whose website said expect a response within 7 days. That was 30 days ago. Despite having a signed letter on Holland America letterhead which was personally signed by the Capt. We have not heard from either Tripadvisor or the tour operator. Where I come from taking people’s money and ignoring them is a miserable way to do business.

Fantastic experience. Nigel was knowledgeable and fun. Saw so much of the area and local history and culture. Particularly enjoyed the stories and village tour complete with scones and tea. Delicious food and lovely companionship. The castle tour was quite a window in history. The drive through the countryside was beautiful. The time flew by. Highly recommend.

Covered the southern half of man, areas that we would not have seen on a large tour. Guys were amazingly well-versed because they all live there. Chose stops with care i’m making each experience very meaningful

Nigel, Graham and Trevor takes you on a tour of the Isle of Man that is not to be compared with any other. The knowledge and experience that these guys have is beyond price. Highly recommend anyone thinking of traveling to the Isle of Man to book through Nigel. Trevor is knowledgeable and eloquent about his subject. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and the locations we visited. Go Manx…

Nigel knows the Isle of Man and many people on it. He loves his island and loves to share it with his guests. He took us to a lovely spot for tea and scones. What a treat!

Spent a wonderful day touring the Isle of Man with Nigel. He picked us up from our hotel and we started with a viking castle, then off to a historic croft village followed by morning tea at the islands end. Then over the mountains to the seaside town of Peel driving back to the city of Douglas on the TT motor bike race track. Nigel was a great companion and font of Manx knowledge. I would highly recommend the Southern Manxland Tour!

Trevor, our guide, and Nigel, our driver ,were terrific. Trevor knows so much about the island, and was very accommodating to our interests. This was one of the best tours of our trip.
