What atmospheric insights into Scottish history we had on this tour - a wonderful tour of ancient sites with my favourite being Dunadd Fort where Kings were crowned! The Kilmartin Museum provided an excellent summary of the local history and well worth a visit. Our Guide Chris was exactly as the website claimed: "More than just drivers, they’re storytellers, historians, jokers, and lifelong locals who know every loch, glen, castle, and quirky backroad like the back of their hand. They’ll regale you with tales of ancient clans, mythical creatures, unsung heroes, and notorious villains." More than that Chris adjusted our tour as roads were closed but still managed to fit the whole experience in without hitch, whilst accommodating the interests of my party and our fellow travellers. As a local with a fair bit of knowledge of Scottish history he provided me with lots of links and resources to broaden that knowledge and provided answers to all the questions we had. (Tip: the museum café is closed on a Tuesday but the Kilmartin Hotel across the road had good grub). I highly recommend this tour.

Excellent day trip to Dunadd Fort and Kilmartin Glen with my Mum and friend. Dave, our designated driver and most gracious host, was entertaining, engaging, and always had a story to share. He was also very considerate to my Mum, who praised him after the trip. The tour itself was amazing, and more people should sign up for it. However, please note that Dunadd Fort is a steep climb and slippery when wet. The final activity at the end, Achnabreac Forest, can be a pain if muddy but well worth the climb if history is your thing. In conclusion, this is an amazing tour and Discover Scotland were impeccable in their planning. Thanks again to Dave!

Great experience. Excellent family-run company. Expert drivers / guides - caring, knowledgeable, well-informed flexible. Did 3 tours with them and would highly recommend them in all regards. Even got a little present at the end of the three tours!! Visited castles, battlefields, standing stones, rock art, lochs, beaches and reindeer among other locations.

I was thrilled to find a company that did a tour to this hidden gem in Scotland. We got to all the major sites of Kilmartin Glen, an extraordinary feat in a day. From iron age Dunadd fort where kings were crowned to ancient carved rocks, cairns, standing stones. Kilmartin has the fabulous museum and church. With stops at Inverary, the Rest and Be Thankful and Loch Lomond, this is ancient Scotland in a nutshell in a day. The bus was very comfy, the driver, John, the best!

Our Tour Guide Chris really has a passion for Kilmartin and this shone through in his commentary which was both informative and engaging. The climb up Dunnad Fort was challenging but so worth the effort. You could do Kilmartin on your but having a Tour Guide like Chris brings the stories of the stones alive.
