Széchenyi Bath, the largest thermal spring bath complex in Budapest and throughout Europe, is the height of European elegance.

Built in 1913 in a captivating Neo-baroque style, the spa has a rich history, evolving from private steam baths to a vast complex featuring 3 outdoor and 15 indoor pools.

But the experience doesn't end at the spa; it extends into the heart of Hungarian culture with tasting options inside the Hungarian Gastro Cellar. After your rejuvenating day at the spa, venture into the city center to savor the flavors of the “Hungarian spirit”. We believe that a nation can be truly known through its cuisine, discover Hungary's drinks with us: choose between 1cl of pálinka or 2x0.5dl of wine (one white - one rosé) complimentary tasting.

  • Ok but Not the Best

Thermal Pool was nice the outdoor one. Indoor pools needs some thorough cleaning, the water itself isn't dirty but the tiles are old, the place smells wet and a bit moldy. There are other locations in Budapest that has thermal pools, we found out after the facts, I don't think I will go to this particular location again.

Bring sandals/flip-flops and a towel. There are three outdoor pools. Cool, warm and warmer. The same with indoor pools.

The mineral baths are an interesting place to visit and we had a good time. The staff is not very welcoming for new visitors about telling you much about the place once inside. They pointed which way to get inside after getting the ticket and someone told which locker space to use but after that we were on our own to figure out what was where and what was included. There was a map that we saw as we were leaving which might have been helpful in the beginning. It was pretty crowded and we avoided some of the inside pools due to the numbers of people. The shower stalls are small as are the changing locker stalls. Hard to keep pants and or socks dry when changing as the floors are wet.

  • The peaceful day we needed

We loved this experience, but it was the perfect level of busy. Midweek, winter trip meant there was an atmosphere, but not overwhelmingly busy!
