We did a lot of research in preparation for our Drake Bay trip and saw the great reviews for the Night Tour with Tracie the Bug Lady. The experience absolutely lives up to the hype! Seeing the jungle at night was completely different than the day time, we got to see so many animals for the first time, like the famous green tree frog among many others and learned so much!! They are true experts and included a follow up with a list of what we saw and provided resources to learn more about the animals. Can’t say enough good things, if you’re going to Drake Bay you absolutely need to take this night tour!

This was by far the best experience we've done in Costa Rica, and one of the best tour I have had in my entire life. For the entire lenght of the tour we felt like we were inside a documentary. We got to see so many animals and Giancarlo's explanations made this whole experience really unforgettable. If you are in Drake Bay you definetly don't wanna miss it.

An absolute highlight of our time in Costa Rica. Make time for this experience. We not only saw so many cool creatures but our guides had incredible knowledge on each and every one of them. Tracie was so helpful in helping us prepare for the night and her passion, love and care showed in abundance. Gianfranco and Emmanuel made us feel safe and excited about what Costa Rica has to offer. Our group was small and this enabled us to get the full experience. We cannot recommend this tour more, a must do.

Our night tour with Tracie's husband Gianfranco & Emmanuel was excellent. Gian has a near encyclopedic knowledge of the many different species which live in the area. It was fascinating to observe so many creatures and learn details about their unique adaptations to the local environment. Would highly recommend anyone coming to Bahia Drake to join this tour!

Wow - this was one of the best tours I've ever been on. Unfortunately Tracie was recovering from a health event at the time of our tour, but her husband Gianfranco and a guide they hired to help with the tour we're fantastic in their absence. We were extremely lucky to start the tour seeing a tapir right in town and saw so many fascinating bugs, bats, and amphibians. We also spotted a common opossum. Gianfranco was a wealth of knowledge and educated us about every creature we encountered. The tour itself wasn't too physically demanding as they were kind enough to transport us to the top of the trail via boat and we were able to walk downhill for the most part on the way back. We were so impressed with everything we saw and the tour was even better than expected and we had high expectations going in. We even tried doing a night hike the night before to see if we could find anything on our own and were very unsuccessful so if you're on the fence of whether it's worth the money - it is 1000% times over. The guides are able to spot things you'd never even be looking for such as a sleeping hummingbird, sleeping butterflies, and spiders that have trapdoors covering their holes.

I really enjoyed my night tour with Gian! We saw some amazing creatures, including a bat that can hunt for fish on the water! As a really nice touch, they keep track of the species encountered on the tour and can send you the list afterwards, along with extra information about each of the species. Highly recommended if you will be staying in Drake Bay!

Great tour! There were many highlights: trapdoor spiders (!), various other kinds of spiders, frogs, bats, a capuchin monkey sleeping in a tree, a hummingbird sleeping in a tree, an anteater climbing in a tree and then promptly falling asleep in the tree, bioluminescent fungus. It was really nice to be in the rainforest at night. Very knowledgeable guide.

Enjoyed our night tour with knowledgeable and patient Giancarlo who provided expert insights into the natural history of the fauna we encountered on our walk. Having the spotting scope with supplemental light and a taped on iPad was stellar as it allowed for the close up views and links to other pictures and notes. Worth the time and the price very reasonable. Just do it yo!

Gianfranco and Tracie were awesome. Both are extremely kind and very knowledgeable. Their attention to detail and patience on the tour made it possible for us to see many incredible creatures of the night that I would never even have seen without their expertise. I would highly recommend this tour, you will LOVE it!!

We had the chance to join the NIght Tour with the Bug Lady, and it was one of the highlights of our trip! The experience was fascinating from start tot finish. Tracie and Gianfranco were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the rainforest. They brougth the night to life by showing us creatures we would never have noticed on our own. From tiny insects to camouflaged frogs and even nocturnal mammals. The explanations were clear, engaging, and filled with fun facts that made the walk both educational and entertaining. The organization was excellent and the atmosphere felt save and welcoming. The pace of the walk was just right, giving us time to observe, take photos and ask questions. What impressed me most was how much respect they showed for the animals and their natural habitat. if you're visiting Drake Bay, this night tour is an absolute must. You''ll see the rainforest in a completely new way, and you'll leave with a deeper appreciation for the incredible diversity of wildlife. Truly a 5-star experience.
