We had an incredible night tour with Gianfranco! It seemed like we could barely take two steps before we got to experience another amazing bit of wildlife. Gianfranco’s knowledge and passion shone through the entire tour, he really knows his stuff! What’s brilliant is that everything we spotted was published on their website so we had a full list of what we saw (there was so much we couldn’t keep track) which was great for us geeky people who kept a wildlife count list for our whole trip. It was a real shame Tracie couldn’t make it due to her injury but she kept in contact through the booking process and we wish her a speedy recovery. Thank you Gian and Tracie for the best night of our trip.

We had a great night walk in the Jungle in Drake Bay with Gianfranco. He was extraordinarily knowledgeable about the many animals we saw: spiders, frogs, toads, sleeping birds, sleeping butterflies, a snake, bats and a four eyed opossum. Also,Tracie’s communication prior to our tour was outstanding. If you are going to do a night wildlife walk in Drake Bay I highly recommend “The Bug Lady”

Incredible experience not to be missed while in Drake Bay. Tracie's husband Gianfranco led the tour; he is such a wealth of knowledge and pointed out critters I'd have never even imagined were there in the shadows. He had some really cool tech like a bat detector to ID a specific bat we were seeing and was great at getting the scope out on some raccoons and insects. Small group size (6 total) meant that we could follow along easily and ask questions, we learned so much! The followup after the tour with a list of species encountered and additional information put this tour over the top. I would highly recommend booking in advance; I can't imagine a better experience!

Easily the best night tour we did during our holiday in Costa Rica! Tracie was unable to make it, but her husband Gianfranco led the tour instead — and he was excellent. He was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to share fascinating details about each species we encountered. His clear passion for wildlife really came through, which we greatly appreciated. The tour was well paced, with a comfortable group size. Gianfranco regularly pointed out subtle wildlife details that many other guides we experienced would miss or gloss over, which made this tour feel a level above the rest. They also have a fantastic equipment setup, allowing seamless and efficient viewing for everyone — especially important when spotting elusive wildlife in the dark. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone staying in Drake Bay.

This tour was amazing!! We were on three night tours across CR these past couple weeks and the others didn’t even compare. Gianfranco gave the tour because Tracie was injured but his knowledge was unbelievable and the fascinating behaviours of insects were revealed. We also got to see roosting bats, crab eating racoons and kinkajous. The spiders were so amazing. Tracie kindly arranged this extra tour for us because her regular tour was all booked. Definitely don’t miss this tour when you’re in Drake Bay.

Crazy amazing. They know so much and share so much. We saw so much! And no one knows the local creatures better. If you want to be guided by the best, this is it. If you are already knowledgeable you'll love it even more. And the follow up communication with a species list and links to more info was a huge bonus.

The night tour was excellent. We saw creatures we would never have seen on our own and learned interesting facts about them. Our tour guide Gianfranco was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. After the tour we were emailed a list of creatures we saw with pictures and links to investigate further.

We did the nightour with GianFranco, the partner of Tracie the Lady Bug. This is the best night tour that we could hope for in drake bay. Saw lots of insects, mammals and a great experience overall. Totally recommend it !

Tracy was out of action so we had Gian. He knows his stuff. He also knows his trail and what is likely to be where and he finds it. He then tells you lots about what you are looking at. If you wish, they send you a list of what you have seen with links to more information. So, if you want to see or know more about fishing bats, trapdoor spiders and much, much more, book this trip early. It does sell out.

It was a remarkable experience. Our guide was very skilled in locating and providing information about the numerous nocturnal creatures. Of particular interest was the bioluminescent scorpion and snake he found using a black light. I highly recommend this unforgettable tour.
