Discover a hidden side of Asakusa that most people don't know! Our guide, a night-time Asakusa specialist, will take you on a relaxing walking tour away from the daytime crowds, immersing you in the magical atmosphere. Asakusa at night is a perfect spot for photography.
The tour begins with a stroll through the Asakusa underground shopping arcade. This area is difficult to access without a guide, but it retains the atmosphere of old Asakusa and offers opportunities to interact with locals.
You can enjoy “Denki Brandy,” a unique blended whiskey born in Asakusa during the Meiji era.
Even if you don't drink alcohol, don't worry—we also have non-alcoholic options available!

Then, visit the beautifully illuminated Sensoji Temple, learning about its history and significance as you wander through the tranquil grounds.

What To Expect
Asakusa Underground Shopping Street
Oldest surviving underground shopping street in Japan. It is about 50 meters long and is known for its strong Showa-era retro atmosphere.
Kaminarimon Gate
Kaminarimon, also known as the "Thunder Gate," is the iconic entrance gate to Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo. It features statues of the gods of wind and thunder, Fujin and Raijin, on either side. The gate is famous for its large red lantern hanging in the center, making it a popular photo spot for visitors.

5.00Night tour in Asakusa was excellent. Yoshiko san took us 8th floor of Asakusa building, nostalgic underground food court, shopping arcade with beautiful closed shutters, temple and shrine. They all made me surprised in terms of different culture.

5.00Our guide was named Hiro. he was a very nice and funny guy and taught us so many things!! he showed us around the city, and showed us many things that we wouldn’t have noticed if we didn’t have a guide like him! he explained everything very well and clearly. his tour is great for kids and didn’t ever get boring!! i would definitely recommend Hiro as your guide if you are interested in learning more about Japan!

5.00Keiko San is a very enthusiastic guide. She is very knowledgeable about Asakusa. She even told us interesting stories (about Skytree construction, Asahi building trivia, facts about Sensoji temple, among others). It's a great tour to take during the summer as temperatures tend to go down after sunset, and also if you want to know more about Asakusa.

4.00Keiko-san is a very nice, kind, enthusiastic and positive guide. We explored the area and I discovered buildings, restaurants, etc. I had not seen nor known about before. She told us about historical facts and gave us insight into the history of some old places. We received guidance about restaurants that are worth trying. She was really patient with our multiple stops along the way to look around and take pictures. The group was small which made the experience also enjoyable.

4.00We had a wonderful tour with Mac, who explained so much about the Senso-ji Temple to us, including the difference between a temple and a shrine, that you place your hands together at a temple, you do not do the double clap as you do at a shrine… Things like that! The temple was closed for the evening when we got there, we had the 6 PM tour. It would be good to put in the 6 PM tour literature that you will not be able to enter the temple, we would have liked to have done that, also the ritual washing basin was turned off for the evening, and we wanted to go through that process. On the flipside, it was wonderful because the temple grounds were very peaceful and contemplative, and we appreciated some quiet after a busy day, so six of one 1/2 dozen of the other, I guess! All in all we had a wonderful tour and Mac was a caring and informative guide

5.00Hiro is an excellent guide. He is very kind and knowledgeable and I enjoyed his company as I was on the tour alone. Asakusa is much better at night because it is less crowded and I got to see some cool things. I definitely recommend this tour, it’s an excellent way to enjoy am early evening!

5.00It was really good yugo was very knowledgeable and welcoming to me and my family and showed us around i just wished the temple was still open to be able to look in side maybe recommend bring the time back 30 mins or so but nothing against yugo he was amazing

5.00The tour was very interesting! The guide was knowledgeable and clearly enthusiastic about sharing the history and culture of Asakusa. I thought the area would be densely crowded, but surprisingly, in the evening it wasn't.

5.00Living in Tokyo I already get used to Asakusa but I missed so much so spot that I won't realize until Akagi-san (our tour guide) share and explain a lot new information, fun facts, and legend about the temple. One that shocked me was there are actually 1 temple and 1 shrine in the same complex which is super rare in Japan! Another point is enjoying the temple and the pagoda during winter evening sky made the building standout as you can see from the pictures I shared.
