What To Expect
Start your day at 5:45 a.m. at Tree Coffee House, just steps from the main dock. Enjoy a fresh cup of Costa Rican coffee or tea while the jungle slowly awakens around you. Meet your guide, receive your binoculars and dry bag, and get ready for an unforgettable morning.
Tortuguero National Park
At 6:00 a.m., glide silently into the narrow rainforest canals of Tortuguero National Park in a stable paddle canoe with backrests. With just 8 guests per group and a certified naturalist by your side, you’ll explore wildlife-rich channels where motorboats can’t go. Spot caimans, monkeys, toucans, kingfishers, herons, and more—every tour is unique. Your guide will help you read the rainforest: from distant bird calls to subtle animal movements.

5.00Fantastic! Boa is a very nice and very competent guide who gives a lot of explanation about the animals we see. We get binoculars with which we can see the animals even better, including sloth and iguana and a poncho when it starts to rain. With the canoe you can also sail into the jungle part where the larger boats cannot go. Great experience! Thank you very much Boa for this wunderful experience!

5.00Excellent guided tour by Boa, who is a very good spotter and has a lot of expertise and local knowledge to share. He does this in a very engaging way and is also impressively multi-lingual. The canoe tour is a very enjoyable way to experience the river and the narrower canals (Boa navigated them with skill).

5.00Our canoe tour in Costa Rica was just great! The guide was really outstanding – incredibly competent, with deep knowledge of the animals and nature. You immediately noticed that he knows the surroundings inside out. What was particularly impressive was how safe and confident he managed his canoe. We not only paddled along the large canals, but also drove into narrow, hidden side arms. He brought us very close to the animals – so calmly and respectfully that not a single animal was scared or ran away. These special moments, gliding so close to monkeys, birds and other animals, were simply unforgettable. The combination of peace, nature, wildlife and a guide who knows exactly what he is doing has made the tour a real highlight. Very clear 5 stars – I would do it again anytime! 🛶🌿✨

5.00Bao organized a unique experience for my minor son alone on a volunteer mission in Costa Rica. He reassured me and sent pictures at every stage of the weekend. He was able to discover this wonderful remote area and the beauty of wildlife. It was just magic. Thank you very much Boa 🙏

5.00Boa was the best. We enjoyed his canoe and night tour so much, we came back a second time. Highly recommend his tours, he takes the tine to make sure we have the best experience. We stayed on the canoe longer just so we could see cayman. He was so knowledgeable and easy to talk with. I would go a third time!

5.00We did our canoe tour as well as the night walk with Boa. Boa is an amazing tour guide who gave us a lot of information about the wild life here in Tortuguero. We saw a lot of animals, we even saw dolphines which was our highlight! We highly recommend travel tortuguero, especially our friend Boa!

5.00We did several tours with Boa and it was certainly the best decision we made on our trip to Tortuguero. Boa is an amazing guide, who puts all his efforts into making your experience the best, and ours was. We learned a lot about the ecosystem, the town of Tortuguero and all the nature around it. 10000% recommended!!!!

5.00Starting the day with the Kanutour was a lot of fun. He showed us where all the animals were and he could tell us something about all of them, which was very interesting. He also has a very humorous way of getting the information across. 10/10 experience and can only recommend it.
