Only an hour and a half from the city of Medellin, is the place most visited by our travelers, La Piedra del Peñol, one of the most beautiful monoliths of the world with 220 meters of height and an unparalleled view of the Peñol-Guatape reservoir.
In this experience you will enjoy an unforgettable landscape while traveling by boat one of the most important dams that contribute to the energetic supply of Colombia. You will also have the possibility to climb the 740 steps that take you to one of the most impressive views of the reservoir. To culminate the day perfectly, you will explore one of the most colorful and beautiful villages of our country where you will cross the street of memories, the plaza of the zócalos, the boardwalk and its main park.

What To Expect
El Peñol is a town and municipality in Antioquia Department, Colombia. Part of the subregion of Eastern Antioquia. The town is nationally known for its monolith known also as El Peñol which is a tourist attraction.
Parque Tematico Replica del Viejo Penol
Replica of the old town of El Peñol, before being covered by the waters of the Guatapé Reservoir. You will find a great assortment of handicrafts in premises attended by their own owners, very friendly and affectionate.

5.00I just finished a trip to Medellín and had an amazing experience visiting Guatapé with Maxitours. The day was well organized and packed with great stops, including breakfast and lunch, a boat ride, climbing Piedra del Peñol, exploring Guatapé town, and even feeding animals. Everything flowed smoothly and felt like great value for what was included. Our guide, Vale, was outstanding—engaging, fun, caring, and very involved throughout the day. She made sure everyone was taken care of and truly enjoying the experience. Her energy and attention made the trip even better.

5.00The tour starts early and is that to be able to take advantage of the time and enjoy all the activities planned for the day, it is barely fair... Our Guide, Luisa “PeliAzul” very attentive all the time to the details and to the fulfillment of our itinerary... We start with a super rich breakfast, then we head towards the stone of the rock, an experience that cannot be missed... We visit the village of guatape, visit the dam where the ancient village was and toured it by boat.. we have lunch a delicious typical dish and finish with a view to the Salto del Chocho. Everything was too cool.
