It is a desert area, a geomorphological marvel. Our ancestors called it Las Salinas today known
known worldwide as Valle de la Luna, surrounded by a set of landscapes of incomparable beauty that resemble a
fragment of the lunar landscape to which it owes its name. In 1982 it was declared a Nature Sanctuary and is part of the
Los Flamencos National Reserve in this place you can see a geological spectacle of great interest, especially when
sunrise and sunset.
During your visit you can contemplate: the famous natural formation known by our ancestors as Los Tres
Watchmen today called Las Tres Marías, Duna Mayor; majestic body of sand and viewpoints such as; Quebrada Honda
where the famous Piedra del Coyote (Mirador de Ckari) is located.

Super sceneric tour and it takes only couple of hours. Definitely worth going for this tour. Maybe check locally if it's not cheaper than via this page.

The tour is 3-4 hours long. It fit easy into my itinerary. I got to learned about astronomy. The night sky was extremely pretty with all the shiny stars I could see there. It was a good experience. Make sure to bring warm clothes. It's cold at night.

Unforgettable trip. Spectacular view of the sand dune and the valley. Sunset was amazing. Every stop during the trip was amazing. The guide, Alexander, was nice, experienced, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Whipala Expedition, the tour company that organized this trip. They provided clear instructions before the trip and communicated with me timely. I even added more trips with them during my stay in San Pedro de Atacama. Their staff were professional and respectful. I enjoyed all the trips very much.

Unique landscape. It was a nice tour with Ernesto providing a lot of information on the history of the Valle de la Luna. Tip: For the sunset, don't just focus on the sun. The shadow growing on the mountains opposite to the sun and it's color is also amazing to capture.

Tour started 50 minutes late. The Moon Valley Tour consisted of 30 minutes at the Dune viewpoint, 10 minutes at the 3 Marías and 30 minutes at the sunset point. Time was not taken to fully enjoy the Moon Valley. We almost spent as much time at a grocery store before sunset than at the view points. I do not recommend this tour.

We had Ernesto as driver and guide. The departure was on time and he has given a lot of information on geology and was very friendly. But we could not quite understand the hype about the Moon Valley, that there are uE far more interesting sights in Atacama.

We had 4 different tours with the company. All of the drivers/guides were knowledgeable. The guides of the early morning tours (Daniel and Javier?) prepared good breakfast for us. And the views of Atacama were absolutely breathtaking.

Interesting tour but very crowded with many tours visiting at the same time which diluted the atmosphere of the stunning scenery. Tour was well organised on WhatApp, admission fee taken care of and the snacks and Pisco sour whilst watching the sunset appreciated.
