We welcome you into our home with open arms! Immediately, you will feel part of our family and our traditions. We begin our welcome, the same way my abuela did with me, with hot chocolate and pan. I love to share my stories and traditions of my culture with you. Classes can be in spanish or english.
Our class will take place in our beautiful outdoor kitchen, located on our terrace. You will learn to prepare food and cook in a traditional Oaxaqueña kitchen, called a brasero - a traditional brick stove, with open fire.
We will get busy in a hands-on cooking experience where you will learn to prepare appetizers, traditional drinks, salsas and main dishes.
In the culmination of our hard work, we will share in a group meal around the table with food, drink, stories, laughter, love and of course, mezcal.
We look forward to connecting with you over food and flavor; one of my cultures oldest traditions.

Fun cooking class! Adhey and her husband Enrique welcomed us into their home and taught us to cook delicious Oaxacan dishes in a relaxed and fun afternoon. This couple is warm and shared with us not only the great meal we cooked but also anecdotes and stories from their family making us feel welcomed and right at home. We highly recommend this class, you won’t be disappointed!

The cooking class was phenomenal! Chef Adhey and Enrique (the great fire-tender and pourer of mezcal) are amazing. The food we made was delicious and Chef Adhey is a wonderful teacher! Our class was in English, and was wonderful. We are excited to make the recipes at home!

Great hosts. Incredible food. Wonderful team effort. Enrique picked us up and brought us to their home. The set up in the kitchen was excellent. There were ten of us and we all had a great time. I cannot recommend this experience more.

Congratulations!! You don’t need to find another cooking class in Oaxaca because this one is simply the best. Chef Adhey is a world-class chef who has traveled the world learning about food and culture, and her conclusion is clear: there is nothing like comida oaxaqueña. She and her family were incredibly welcoming and opened their home to strangers who all have one thing in common: a love of food. The class is inspiring, delicious, and deeply rooted in tradition. This class is a must try in Oaxaca!

We have taken many cooking classes all around the world. We took Adhey’s class this past January, and it was the best class we have ever taken. Adhey is a highly trained chef who has cooked in many fine restaurants in Europe and Mexico. She has deep knowledge about the ingredients and techniques that are necessary to make classic Mexican dishes. Equally as important, Adhey has the perfect personality to lead a class of amateurs with varying levels of experience. She is patient, kind, and encouraging. Everyone participates and has lots of fun. Adhey guided us through the preparation of red salsa, green salsa, guacamole, picadillo, chilis relleno, and more. She also provided all her recipes so we can make them at home. As an extra bonus, we met Adhey’s husband and their two sons. Her husband is her sous chef, and he kept the mezcal flowing. Such a wonderful family! We recommend this cooking class to anyone who loves to learn how to make delicious food, and who doesn’t? We left happy and very full. I recommend that you skip breakfast before you come. There will be lots of delicious food.

Such a friendly, fun filled, delicious activity. A must do fir anyone in Oaxaca. Tour started with a 10 minute pickup to their house. It is led by Husband & Wife team who are both so lovely, kind and fun. Overall about 4 hours of preparing, cooking and eating food with light hearted chat throughout.
