Your 3 hour whale watching adventure begins when you board a coach bus that departs downtown Juneau from the Mt. Roberts Tram parking lot. A 25 minute journey through the picturesque landscape of Southeast Alaska will take you to Auke Bay Harbor. “All aboard!” and you’re off for Alaska waters and the ultimate whale watching experience. The star of the tour is the humpback whale, but we are always looking out for sea lions, bald eagles, or the playful orca. The whales are here to feed in our abundant Alaskan waters. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Gavin was very informative and enthusiastic. Mac steered us to areas where we saw many whales, some sea lions, and an amazing encounter with a mother and her calf.

Juneau Tours was amazing! I specifically booked because this was an Alaskan owned business- and I am so glad I did. We were promptly picked up, boarded and immediately out to the wildlife. Captain Dustin, and our naturalists Lena and Calvin did a great job communicating from the safety briefing to the return safely to harbor. Snacks and a clean bathroom, check! (Because you need to know about that.) we spotted humpbacks & their calves and got lucky to spot several large pods of orca! Thanks Lena, Calvin, and Dustin (and bus driver Ken)!!
