Ulun Danu Bratan Temple

One of Bali’s iconic temples that sits on the lake of Beratan, the Ulun Danu Beratan temple is located on the highlands of the famous Bedugul regency in north Bali. Because of the temple’s location on top of a lake, the temple itself is actually used for offering ceremonies for the goddess of water, lakes and rivers, known as Dewi Danu. Therefore, Lake Beratan is one of the important lakes in Bali in terms of irrigation, especially in the rice fields and plantations. Things to do here are a paddle boat ride, a guided tour on a canoe, and sightseeing the mountain view.

Taman Ayun Temple

Another Bali’s iconic temple makes it in the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2002 is the Taman Ayun Royal Temple. The temple itself was built by the former King of Mengwi regency in 1634 AD. Surrounded the temple is covered with beautiful gardens and ponds. Things to do at the temple includes a visit to historical sites and museums, a spiritual seeking enthusiasts, and fun outdoor sightseeing and adventure.

Wira is an awesome driver and guide! My partner and I had the best day exploring Bali. Wira had amazing knowledge and recommendations for food and leisure. Yudi was a great guide. Crazy morning traffic in Denpasar. Helped with photos. Told alot obout life and culture in Bali. Got us to rice fields in mountains despite rain. Found his way to beautiful temple on lake and explained story of it. Stopped by coffee & mangosteen farm and shop to sample/ buy, a special request. Got us home quickly and passed by shopping areas we will go to another day. Great trip.

We had a wonderful day, in the company of Mr. Bawa, who was our incredibly polite and very sweet guide on the tour. The different temples on the tour were beautiful in their own way and the walk through the rice fields was very breathtaking. We would highly recommend this tour.

The tour is an amazing adventure visiting four amazing places including UNESCO World Heritage sites: Taman Ayun Temple, Ulan Danu Temple, Tanah Lot Temple, Jatiluwih Rice Terrace Our guide and driver, Septa, did an excellent job on a long days adventure which started in Nusa Dua. It made for a long day - 12 hours of touring. But the water temples, the royal temple and the rice terraces are incredible. The only disappointment was dining at Jatiluwih Resto overlooking the rice terraces. The food was overpriced as you would expect at a tourist location. The view was very nice, but the food was terrible - bland, barely warm dreck - by far the worst meal we had in Bali. Find another place to dine. Even that meal could not diminish the incredible sights on this tour. You’ll not be disappointed.
Taking home Bali in our hearts and minds after this experience. It’s a must do.

This was such an amazing experience. We had a group of 11 people and our guides kept us together, well educated, and on time without feeling rushed throughout the entire day. You can pack so much into this day seeing many sites that if you did on your own, you might hit 2 and be done as the traffic is such an issue, but not with our guides, they knew of some back roads that made it even more fun as we saw small towns with even narrower streets than what you typically see in Bali! I just can’t say enough good things about our guide, Eko. We feel like we got to know him as part of our family. He is such a happy person, it just comes out everywhere in his smile and laughter. He is kind and humble and taught us so much about the Hindu faith and community. We have been truly blessed to have crossed paths with this amazing human being and for him to share his island with us, we are forever grateful. I’m not sure if you can request him as your guide, if you can, ask for Eko.
