We had a lovely day starting with a stop at Giverny Monet House and then on to the Chateau and gardens at Versailles lead by our most capable tour guide Nattie. She was wonderful and got us around the lines and through the exhibits with expediency and gave us insight regarding the important things that were “must see”.

Booked as a guided tour, we were informed as we entered the bus that it was via our phone with an app and no human would be guiding us. Had I known that I might have changed my tour or at least brought ear buds with me. I could not get the app to work. Part of our group did have a guide. The guide who did provide earphones and a pink umbrella to follow left us to fend for ourselves as off they trotted on their “guided tour”. We had no pink umbrella lady and became a bit lost at the end of our tour, making it back to the bus a little late. The lunch was nice, the venue was beautiful. The chicken was a bit bland but the wine was good. Would have loved the promised cup of coffee with the excellent apple tort but alas none was provided. The senecio at Versailles was the same as the Monet, but we did manage to arrive at the bus on time. Not sure what we missed at each experience but we did enjoy what we saw. I think the “guided tour” phrase is deceptive and we paid a lot for a nice ride to the attractions

Monet’s gardens were beautiful - highly recommend and the lunch was fabulous. However, Versailles sucked! It should have been 1st. To arrive at 3:15pm and not get in till after3:30pm even when we were supposed to have advance tickets was annoying. By 3:30pm the crowds were excessively long and inside was so crowded it ruined the trip. There were so many guides stopping groups through out the palace that we could not see many exhibits. There should be better signage outside directing people to the various fountains. When we left, the bus driver closed the door while my friend was trying to getup the stairs and I had not made it to my seat so we both fell and hurt ourselves. I would not take this tour again or recommend it to anyone!

A lot of people, and I mean: a lot of people all at once - seemingly - visiting this place. It’s overwhelmingly crowded. But it’s worth visiting. If you have the patience required, go for it. Our guide, Clara, was awesome. The driver was amazingly skilled and always on time and careful. Thank you!

Some people in our group had a guided tour while we did not. Not sure how we were together so felt like the guide just told us when to meet back.
