Stephansplatz
St. Stephen's Cathedral (more commonly known by its German title: Stephansdom) is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vienna and the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna, Christoph Cardinal Schönborn
The square was created in 1872 as a citizen square on the southern edge of what was then the 4th district or the city of Vienna at the historic fork of Laaer Straße (today Laaer-Berg-Straße) and Himberger Straße (today Favoritenstraße). After exploring this place we will eat Viennese sweet confectionery creations and drink freshly roasted coffee at Groissböck. Their recipe for success? Baking with love and only use the best ingredients for their fine masterpieces.

Our guide was Maria and she did an amazing job of taking us to several districts so we were out of the main tourist area and trying local cuisines. We went from the imperial coffeehouse to the talented Street vendors. Really fabulous. Don’t be daunted by a six hour adventure!

At the meeting point we were divided into smaller groups - 9 in our case - which was appreciated. Our guide (Maria) did a great job guiding us on a culinary adventure to various different districts of Vienna. The food was all delicious and it was fun to be taken to places that most tourists would never, ever find on their own. We had so much to eat plus a few drinks. It was great value for money. My advice is to definitely skip breakfast and don't make big dinner plans. Altogether, a great experience!

We toured with Peter and it was phenomenal! This food tour will bring you all over the city, and by the third stop you’ll be thankful for the walking. Do NOT eat breakfast, and don’t make dinner plans. You’ll be full of food and history! Dress comfortable. Get a 24hr transit pass. Bring an empty stomach!
