This was a great trip because you got to kayak and hike all in one trip! We had good weather conditions so the kayak portion was pretty easy. The hike was also easy aside from the mud, but that made it more fun. You get to cross the river on foot and then a short hike to the waterfall. Some people fell in the mud, but the majority of us did not. Garret (G) was a fantastic guide, super friendly, and informative. Even stopped to feed his bird friend on the hike! P.S. Although I say the trip was “easy”, if you have never kayaked or hiked in your life and are in bad physical shape, I would not advise going on this trip. There was a couple on our trip that turned back b/c they realized fairly quickly they were not fit enough to continue.

4 mile paddle 3 mile hike. More strenuous when windy and rainy. Wear good hiking and swin shoes. Have a great time.

Easy kayak paddle for just over 2 miles, followed by a 1 mile level hike, then returned the way we came. Our guide was engaging and fun, which added to a good day.

Anya, our guide, was fantastic. She had a great attitude, and was very helpful to those who needed it. Before we left the marina, Anya told us we may not be able to make the hike to the Falls, as the overnight rains were causing the river to rise rapidly. When we got to the area to beach the kayaks, she checked the flood gauges and said it was unsafe to hike in. We were all disappointed, but made the best of it. By the time we got back to the marina, the groups that had went in before us were calling for rescue and evacuation. Made us feel real good about her decision!
