This is not a checklist tour—it’s a walk into everyday Fiji.

Led by a local guide with over 18 years of experience in Fiji’s tourism industry, this small-group walking experience offers a deeper understanding of Nadi through personal stories, local interactions, and cultural insight.

We explore the town on foot, visiting the local market and important cultural landmarks such as the Sri Subramaniya Temple, while discussing history, faith, migration, and modern life in Fiji today.

Group sizes are kept small to allow real conversation, flexibility, and connection. You’ll have time to ask questions, meet locals, and learn simple words in the local language.

This experience is ideal for travelers who want to understand Fiji beyond the resort—and is best done early in your stay.

This experience is ideal for:

– Curious travelers seeking cultural understanding.

– First-time visitors wanting orientation.

– Small groups and couples.

– Guests who value local businesses and ethical travel.

John was an excellent guide, explaining all the expected sites we visited and history and how Nadi has developed. It is a walking tour and it was quite hot and humid the day we went, but it was well worth the time spent. John took time to care for us as if we were family!

  • Highly recommend! Exceeded expectations!

John was an excellent guide, full of information about the history, culture and current affairs of Fiji. An experienced and retired member of the Fijian tourist industry, he gave us a lot of information during the tour and also answered all of our questions. He was also kind and flexible when we stopped to get a snack, which we appreciated immensely. We highly recommend this tour on your first or second day in fiji to start your trip with a helpful orientation to the country and town and if you want to feel like a local friend is taking you around their town. Thank you so much John!

A most knowledgeable guide with a good foundation of understanding for explaining the local culture. Answered questions about the native foods and diets and how different influences from other nationalities caused a growing variety over time. Discussed the diversity of today's religious makeup in the population with knowledge of the history and patterns of immigration and their causes. The guide also seemed to have a good knowledge of the history of native crafts and their importance in today's culture. Was also able to explain how the spread out pattern of 300 plus islands over 1000's of acres with helped create the current system of government and society.

It was good. We were invited into the temple by one of the priests, at a time when we weren’t meant to be there. He even allowed photos and a photo with him. The markets were interesting. Our guide was a delightful lady, very helpful, very knowledgeable.
