Panjiayuan Antique Market
Meet your guide in the morning or afternoon in your hotel, then take a cab or subway to Panjiayuan Flea Market. The Market covers an area of 4.85 hectares of land and accommodates over 3,000 stalls. It is the largest antiques market of its kind both in China and Asia. With so many stalls selling similar items, this is a great place for bargain hunters. It used to be a weekend-only market. But, after some refurbishment work, it is now open for business seven days a week.The market deals mainly in antiques and arts and crafts. It also has the reputation of being the most inexpensive antiques market in Beijing, attracting foreign and domestic tourists. Whether you want to sightseeing, window-shop or buy collectors' items, there really is something for everyone. Even Hilary Clinton has famously shopped at Panjiayuan. 5.00Sally was an incredible tour guide. We were a group of 8 with many different shopping needs. She was gloriously helpful and knowledgeable about the market and all of the types of items available . We even extended to see a 2nd market. A truly lovely end to our amazing first trip to Beijing.

5.00The Panjianyuan Market was interesting, and fun to explore - LOTS of beads! If you are into jewelry making this is a must stop for you! There were many stalls with lots of authentic and not authentic antiques, hard to know what was what. My guide Kelly, was excellent! She was so valuable in communication and negotiating with vendors. Her English is excellent. While she was super helpful at the market, I think she really made my day by teaching me the Beijing subway system, the ticket machine, and reading the map - after my tutorial with her I was totally comfortable getting around Beijing via subway (the only way to go in my book...!) by myself. She is knowledgeable, friendly and really a nice person to spend a day (or part of a day) with. She met me at my hotel, right on time, and I couldn't have asked for a better guide for the morning!
