  I booked the Agafay Desert Package: Quad Bike, Camel Ride, and Dinner Show with high expectations, but unfortunately, I left feeling concerned, especially about the treatment of the camels. While the desert scenery was beautiful and the dinner show entertaining, the camel ride experience was deeply troubling. The camels were tightly tied together, and my camel in particular had almost no room to move its head freely. The way it was tethered made it difficult for it to shift, turn, or even lift its head properly. Worse still, when one of the camels became unsettled, I saw a handler grab it by the genitals to force it to calm down. This was shocking and honestly hard to watch. It felt more like intimidation than care. This experience made me question the ethics of the tour and whether the animals are treated humanely behind the scenes. I hope the company re-evaluates its animal welfare standards and chooses more compassionate practices in the future. Until then, I cannot recommend this experience to others, especially to animal lovers or families with children. The desert is stunning and there are many ways to enjoy it without supporting questionable treatment of animals.

  Disturbing Animal Abuse and Unsafe Conditions — Do Not Book This Tour This tour was one of the most upsetting and unethical experiences I’ve ever had while traveling. I booked this through Viator expecting a cultural experience, but instead witnessed repeated animal cruelty, extremely inhumane conditions, and was subjected to unsafe and uncomfortable treatment as a guest. The most horrifying part was how the camels were treated. They were forced to do over 5 one-hour-long tours per day, in extreme heat, with no shade, no water breaks, and visibly distressed. Even worse, the camels were tied together by their tongues — yes, their tongues — so if one animal slipped or panicked, it could easily cause severe injury or even tear another camel's mouth apart. It was heartbreaking to see, and completely unnecessary. This tour company clearly prioritizes profit over animal welfare. There was no supervision, no regulation, and no compassion. It was painful to witness, and made me feel deeply complicit just being there. To make matters worse, the tour was physically miserable. We were crammed in a van with no working A/C in 110°F heat. We became severely dehydrated and had to return to hotel. They charged us 400DH and the driver was erratic, blaring music and trying to sell us products after we said we were feeling dehydrated and unwell. This tour should be reported, not promoted. I’m shocked that Viator allows this listing on their platform and continues to ignore refund requests from customers who raise serious ethical and safety concerns. Do not book this tour. It is cruel, unsafe, and completely misrepresented. Viator has a responsibility to vet the companies they work with — and in this case, they’ve failed badly.

  overall very good experience and a good value. Would like to go a bit faster on the atv and also wouldve been great to stop in the valley floor and right before getting back to base camp for just a couple of min to take photos of canyon and sunset.
