Spiaggia Caldura
The beach of the "Kalura" defined, by experts in the field, as the beach with unique characteristics in the world. Overhanging the sea is located in the district "Calura" in Cefalù, Sicily. It's hard to find but worth getting to this lovely place. Immersed in a context characterized by a typical Mediterranean vegetation, composed of succulents, prickly pears and pine trees, space is made between rocks with a unique and unmistakable shape. A few meters from the shoreline are the protagonists of the stacks with suggestive shapes and characteristic colors. On days with great visibility you can clearly see the Aeolian islands on the horizon: Alicudi, Filicudi, Lipari and Vulcano. The water temperature is above average, and for most of the summer the body of water is always very clear and you can see the sandy bottom up to ten meters deep. Ideal place for snorkeling
Bastione di Capo Marchiafava
The Bastion of Capo Marchiafava is an ancient defensive bulwark of Cefalù with a polygonal shape and its tip projected towards the sea. Completed in 1642, it is the most advanced stronghold north of the fortification system of the small village. The name Marchiafava is the union of the Arabic term Marsa, which means port and the Sicilian word favara which indicates a spring. The presence of a water well at this point is, in fact, already attested in 1546. From the small viewpoint of the Bastion of Capo Marchiafava you can enjoy a beautiful view. Looking to the right, a short distance away you can see the so-called “drunk rock”. According to a legend, in fact, this outcrop would have wrecked a ship carrying a load of wine. On some special days you can see some of the Aeolian Islands on the horizon. There is, in fact, an ancient saying that goes like this: “When the island appears either sirocco or mistral.”

Our guide was Micah, he did a good job, was gracious in providing drinks and snacks. He should intrude himself to us all..

A wonderful trip that I highly recommend. There were six on the boat in total and we sailed around the beautiful coastline. We stopped to swim twice both in deliciously warm water. The views were intoxicating. The second swim gave us the opportunity to venture into a hidden cave with a secret shore and my adventurous children jumped off rocks. Top tip - when swimming out, do backstroke so you can take in the amazing rocks at the top of the cave. We then relaxed and watched a beautiful sunset while sipping Prosecco and munching on crisps. Throughout our guide was helpful and informative. A first class expedition.

We had a wonderful trip. The excursion was a 10th anniversary treat to ourselves. Our guide Mirco was courteous and knowledgeable and explained the coastline landmarks and history to us. We stopped several times for those wanting to swim. As promised we were offered soft drinks and at sunset were given prosecco and crisps.
