Amsterdam Canal Ring
Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands, has more than one hundred kilometers of grachten (canals), about 90 islands and 1,500 bridges. The three main canals (Herengracht, Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht), dug in the 17th century during the Dutch Golden Age, form concentric belts around the city, known as the Grachtengordel. Alongside the main canals are 1550 monumental buildings.[1] The 17th-century canal ring area, including the Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht and Jordaan, were listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010,[2] contributing to Amsterdam's fame as the "Venice of the North"

The Captain Jack Team offered to delay our booking due to the rain - because of that, we managed to stay dry for most of the tour. Our captain (Hans) was very knowledgeable and kind. We enjoyed talking to him and listening to all the information on Amsterdam.

Great views of the city, highly recommend. It would have been nice to hear more about what I was looking at with some history attached. The tour operator was a great captain, friendly, and knowledgeable about the city.

This 1.5 hour canal cruise is a great way to see Amsterdam from a different viewpoint. Would highly recommend this activity. Paulo was our captain. He was very knowledgeable about the sights and shared some interesting information. Also gave recommendations about other things we could do to see more of Amsterdam. The cruise also included snacks and there was an alcohol package you could purchase for 15€ (I didn’t, but others did-choice of wine or beer/unlimited). Great way to test your feet but still see the sights!

Captain JP was entertaining and educational. We really enjoyed seeing Amsterdam from his boat and hearing about the local history and Amsterdam today.
