What To Expect

Learn how to make the world famous Dutch Stroopwafels yourself! During this Fun and Easy workshop, our professional host will assist you in creating some delicious traditional Dutch Syrup Waffles Nestled in the charming heart of Amsterdam. As you step into our cosy, welcoming venue, the aroma of caramel and freshly baked dough envelops you, setting the stage for a truly authentic Dutch experience. Our 45-minute workshop begins with a warm introduction from your experienced guide, who will share the fascinating history of the Stroopwafel, a beloved Dutch specialty since the 18th century. You’ll don your apron and gather around as the guide demonstrates the art of crafting the perfect Stroopwafel—from mixing the dough to the precise cooking technique required to achieve that golden, crispy texture. Then, it’s your turn to get hands-on. You’ll roll out your dough and learn how to cook it to perfection on a traditional iron. The highlight comes when you drizzle warm, gooey syrup—the 'stroop'—between the thin wafel layers, sealing the sweet concoction. While your creations cool, you'll enjoy a well-deserved break with a cup of coffee or tea, mingling with fellow baking enthusiasts.

My wife and I attended the stoopwafel making workshop during a long weekend trip to Amsterdam. It was great fun; the hosts were very friendly and entertaining, and you got to make (and eat!) 2 stoopwafels each! Would recommend to anyone who wants a bit of a fun experience.

Great to learn a quick history of the stroopwaffel and to actively participate in making one and not just buying one from a shop. Our host, Morris and his team (including Zander) were excellent and extremely personable. Great having a local giving us his view and opinion of what a stroopwaffel should be. He also gave good recommendations of points of interests which I was interested in. Doesn't take much time and is definitely a highlight on our trip here in Amsterdam. Would definitely recommend to everyone ; no matter the age.
