The museum told the story of Van Gogh’s life in a thoughtful and effective way, with samplings of his work, work from other artists, and through various mediums. The audio tour was informative and interesting, without being too heavy, and the temporary exhibition was an amazing experience to top it all off.

We arrived early in the morning with skip the line tickets. It was a good move as the museum got more crowded by noon when we finished with the four floors and special exhibits. Of all the museums onour European vacation this one was the best operated. Self guided audio tour allowed you to go at your leisure. The works in the collection are staggering. Van Gogh was the greatest in my opinion and this is a special place for real fans. I also loved the bookshops and got many souvenirs.
