Depart from our Girdwood base and soar over rugged peaks and the breathtaking backcountry of the Chugach Mountains. Your pilot will fly you to Punch Bowl Glacier, home to our summer dogsled camp.
After landing, you’ll be welcomed by professional mushers and Alaskan Huskies, including adorable puppies! Learn about Alaska’s mushing traditions and hear firsthand stories from mushers who live and work on the glacier.
Your visit includes an exciting dogsled ride across the snow with time for photos. You’ll also have time to meet the dogs, play with puppies, and explore the glacier before your return flight.

What To Expect
Alpine Air Alaska
From the Girdwood airport, you’ll enjoy a short, scenic flight to a remote camp on Punchbowl Glacier. Guides from Iditarod legend Mich Seavey’s Ididaride Sled Dog Tours will introduce you to the lovable dogs and teach you about the musher's lifestyle before your dogsledding adventure. Take in spectacular views of glaciers and peaks as you ride on the sled, you'll even get a chance to drive the dog team yourself. This is a unique Alaska experience you’ll always remember. TOUR HIGHLIGHTS: • Scenic 15-minute flight to and from a remote camp on Punchbowl Glacier • The camp is managed by the Seavey family, renown for raising teams of Iditarod champions • Meet the friendly Alaskan Huskies; learn about the musher’s lifestyle and historic Iditarod race • Plenty of photo opportunities of you on the glacier, driving the dog team, playing with the dogs! • We provide light weight rain jacket and pants, fleece gloves, and outer boots that slip over your shoes We offer a complimentary round-trip transfer from any hotel or B&B in Girdwood. Driving to Girdwood? Park at our hangar. • We ask all guests to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled flight time so you can take part in a short safety briefing before your tour.

5.00Absolutely hands down one of the best experiences we have had during our trip to Alaska! Every single person we encountered on this trip was friendly and helpful. The helicopter trip was fun (our first) and riding with Calvin on his sled and listening to the knowledge he’s gained working with the dogs and actually running the Iditarod last March was unforgettable! 100% recommend this tour!! Well worth the money! Thank you for the memories!

5.00If I could give this ten stars, I would. My husband, two girls (ages 5 and 8), and I did the summer dogsled tour. This was hands-down our favorite thing we did on any trip we’ve ever been on. Everyone was so friendly and professional, from people on the ground, helicopter pilots to dog mushers. Our musher Zion was especially great! We loved meeting all of the dogs and learning a lot about the dogs and the Iditarod. I would go back to Alaska just to do this again!

5.00Absolutely phenomenal experience from start to finish! Every team member was super friendly, uber safe, and very knowledgeable. The helicopter ride itself is pretty breathtaking and the dogs / mushers / sled ride were just top notch. Shout out to Jess (excellent pilot-ing) and Calvin (super knowledgeable, engaging, and made the sled ride a total blast...who also just happened to compete in the Iditarod). Two thumbs up!!

5.00Incredible experience! If you ever in your lifetime have the chance to take this trip DO IT! Our morning started with a beautiful drive along the Chugach Mountains, Kris our shuttle drive shared with us his family’s history of the area and answered many of our questions we had about the Turnagain Arm and the city of Anchorage. Kris, thank you for that dinner recommendation, truly fabulous food. I wont let your secret be known. As the fog clears our helicopter lifts off from a small mountain airstrip. The view instantly becomes breathtaking. With clear mountain streams, snow in the background and steep slopes surrounding the area. And then it happens, a glacier appears in the front view of the helicopter. Our pilot Jess, slowly reduces elevation and we land on glacier. The dogs instantly know what the arrival of the helicopter means, time to work. After introductions with all the dogs, and getting to learn all their names. We mount the sled. I just had know idea, absolutely incredible. The power, the speed, the stamina. Thank you all for this amazing experience. Truly outstanding.

5.00Wow! Amazing experience! We took a helicopter to the glacier (and it wasn’t scary!). Got to meet actual Iditarod racers, dogs, and puppies, and did a 2 mile ‘run’ with the dogs. Learned so much. Would do it again in a heartbeat! Wonderful group of folks from front desk to top of glacier and back!

5.00We had a wonderful trip up to the Punchbowl Glacier. The helicopter ride was smooth and the pilot pointed out moose and a little bit about the hiking trail leading up to the Glaicer. The dog sledding on top of the Glacier was fantastic with very knowledgeable guides.

5.00This was the highlight of our trip. My 2 daughters (ages 9 and 11) both enjoyed meeting the happy, healthy sled dogs. We all had a blast getting to ride the sleds. The short helicopter ride to and from the glacier had breathtaking scenery. Even though this was expensive, it was an amazing experience. The half hour with the puppies was the highlight!!!

5.00Had an amazing experience and so grateful that the weather was sunny the day when we went up the glacier. The staff were very kind and the dogs were fun and energetic. The puppies were super adorable, too. Shout out to our shuttle driver, Cole, for taking us to the site and back to Anchorage. Thank you again!

5.00The crew at the hanger and the crew on the glacier were EXCELLENT! Very easy to work with and so accommodating! The dogs were beautiful and the ride was so fun! The helicopter pilot was awesome and the views were incredible!!! Was the highlight of our trip to Alaska!!
